Asashi Suzuki was one of the top students and athletes at St. Bernadette's College For Young Ladies in Skyline City. One night, while socializing at a local bar, she had the misfortune to run into Ken Watanabe, the Japanese Beetle. She found Ken's clumsy advances charming, and the two began dating. Asashi dumped Ken soon afterwards, though he continues to pursue her to this day.

Later, when the Japanese Beetle temporarily became the dean of Thornton Mellon University, he offered Asashi a full athletic scholarship. Asashi gladly accepted, thinking that she would compete on the TMU kickboxing team. When she later discovered that she was expected to compete on TMU's newly-established "foxy boxing" team, she was enraged. However, since Asashi lacks the resources to transfer back to St. Bernadette's, she remains a TMU student to this day.

Asashi currently shares an apartment in Skyline City with her roommates, Sarah Pleininthal and Kremlina Stalinova.
