Here's an advance look at the cover of The Zombie Pop-Up Book by Pete Von Sholly [Hermes Press; $24.99], which is being solicited in this month's Previews catalog. As TOT readers know, I'm a big fan of Von Sholly's crazy wonderful work. In this hardcover pop-up book, a perfect Halloween gift for the Calvin or Lio in your own life, he introduces ten new hilariously disgusting zombies and includes a scene of his creations chowing down on some of our most beloved political figures. Now that's what I call fun for all ages!

ADDENDUM
Today's TOT is what Justin and I call a placeholder. With the Tip the Tipster account running dangerously low, I wanted to make sure I could write at least one more full-length column after Justin returns from Comic-Con International.
Whether we receive any more donations or not, there will still be the five more full-length columns I promised. But now the last of those will appear on Wednesday, July 30.
Of course, if we do receive donations, then TOT will continue to appear every Monday through Friday...with the occasional break when either Justin or myself are traveling.
In other news...
If all goes according to plan - and what are the odds of that happening - there are new Tony Polls questions available at our online ballot box:
www.worldfamouscomics.com/tony/poll
I'd tell you all about them, but, since writing the questions is third on my list of things I must write today, I haven't written them yet. I sure hope they turn out to be interesting.
Thanks for spending a part of your day with me. I'll be back tomorrow with more stuff.

THE "TONY" SCALE

ZERO: Burn your money before buying any comic receiving this rating. It doesn't *necessarily* mean there's absolutely nothing of value here - though it *could* - but whatever value it might possess shrinks into insignificance before its overall awfulness.

ONE: Buy something else. Maybe I found something which wasn't completely dreadful in the item, but not enough for me to recommend it when there are better comics available. I only want what's best for you, my children.

TWO: Basic judgment call. I found some value, but not enough to recommend it. My review should give you enough info to decide if you want to take a chance on it. Are you feeling lucky today, punk? Well, are you?

THREE: This denotes something I find perfectly respectable. There are better books out there, but I wouldn't regret buying this item. Based on my review, you should be able to determine if it's of interest to you. Let the Force guide you.

FOUR: I recommend anything earning this rating. Unless you don't like the genre, subject matter, or past work of the creators, I believe you'll enjoy this item. Isn't it uncanny how I can look right into your soul that way?

FIVE: Anything getting this rating is among the best comicdom has to offer. You should buy/read this, even if the genre/subject matter doesn't appeal to you. It's for your own good. Me, I live for comics and books this good...but not in a pathetic "Comic-Book Guy" sort of way.
