| 1. Scott Pilgrim Volume 6: Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour |
|
By: Bryan Lee O'Malley Publisher: Oni Press July 20, 2010
Once I opened this final volume after reading the first five in two days...i dreaded knowing what was possibly going to happen. Closure!!Hilarious and sometimes a bit idiotic but it put a smile on my face. Better Yet Stephen Stills...OMG!! that is all I am saying about that. So we got Closure and Scott did as well in some respects... more

| 2. Around The World In 80 Days (Idw Graphic Classics) |
|
By: Jules Verne, Chrys Millien Publisher: IDW Publishing June 15, 2009
Around The World In Eighty Days is one of the shortest of Jules Verne's novels, and possibly the easiest for modern audiences to read. It is still enjoyable, even if you already know the ending. (And for extra fun, get the computer to pronounce Passepartout for you!) I've probably read it three times already since I was a kid... more

By: Emily Bronte, Emily Bonte Publisher: New Promise Inc 1998-04
Not only is this book gorgeous, but the content of the book is very good. I had never read it before, but some one told me to give it a try and I am glad I listened. It is one of the best books I have ever read... more

| 4. Scott Pilgrim, Vol. 1: Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life |
|
By: Bryan Lee O'Malley By: Bryan Lee O'Malley Publisher: Oni Press August 18, 2004
I brought the entire series because I am interested in all the nooks and crannies that the movie may leave out. I found it to be funny, sometimes a bit idiotic and fun to read that I almost completed reading the entire series in two days. I would say that this books with its video game fights scenes and very forward thinking inside jokes that it makes a very good read over a bottle of beer or wine... more

| 5. Scott Pilgrim, Vol. 2: Scott Pilgrim Versus The World (v. 2) |
|
By: Bryan Lee O'Malley By: Bryan Lee O'Malley Publisher: Oni Press June 15, 2005
I started to read the series some years ago, when there was only three books and have been following ever since. With the final book being released I'm rereading and reviewing the earlier books.
Though still funny, this book is much more action and story centered then the last. We learn more about Scott's (and his friend's) past, giving the series the 'epic' feel that follows throughout... more

| 6. The Hobbit |
|
By: J.R.R. Tolkien Publisher: Ballantine Books May 12, 1976
The Hobbit is such a charming story and Bilbo so endearing, who wouldn't enjoy having the book read to them. But when it's done by such a consummate performer as Martin Shaw! Heaven! It is truly truly "preciousssss"... more

| 7. Treasure Island |
|
By: Robert Louis Stevenson Publisher: CreateSpace April 09, 2009
I teach students with special needs. Stepping Stone books give me modified classic literature that stays fairly close to the original text. This allows my students to focus more on comprehension skills, and less on "getting through the book". Treasure Island is a favorite combined with an overabundance of "pirating" activities that for a brief period of time my students get to become pirates. Comprehension... more

| 8. Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass |
|
By: Lewis Carroll February 25, 2010
The story of Alice in Wonderland 1 and 2 is a well thought story that brings you to a place of "nonsense". The way Lewis Carrol wrote it has to do a lot about politics and the way of reality. Alice always thinks what's the point of a book that shows nothing interesting whatsoever? Well later on she discovers that there are a few reasons why s some things are not nonsense. These are some of the nonesense... more

| 9. Blackest Night |
|
By: Geoff Johns Publisher: DC Comics July 13, 2010
The storyline of the Blackest Night is, in a word, insane. Seeing previously known and loved characters in zombie form is unnerving for the reader, but it makes the still living characters face things the haven't really had to deal with before. Think of all of the dead Lanterns in the previous storylines, like during the Sinestro Corps War and the conflicts with the Red Lanterns and Agent Orange... more

| 10. Troublemaker Book 1: Alex Barnaby Series 3 |
|
By: Janet Evanovich, Alex Evanvovich Publisher: Dark Horse Comics July 20, 2010
Does Janet Evanovich think that she has us so enthralled with her writing that she can rip us off for 15.00 to buy this ridiculously thin book? For years her books have gotten skimpier, with less pages and less words, but this? I can't believe they even put it out... more
