I have seen this movie several times and never get tired of seeing it again.
This is in my opinion one of the best Cary Grant, movies and the fact that it was directed by Alfred Hichcock, only makes it better. The "Blue-ray 50th Anniversary Edition", is well worth it's price. The book form it comes in makes it an even more pleasant surprise, with the behind the scenes photo's of... more

| | 2. Rear Window (Collector's Edition) |
| Starring: James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Raymond Burr, Wendell Corey Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock March 06, 2001
Actually, "Rear Window" is a great film- suspense, Jimmy Stewart, and Raymond Burr as the brow beaten heavy you love to hate. The VHS version is fine with me. You can read the summary on Wikipedia. What creeped me out was the love interest between the aged old Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly. (I did not need to see Jimmy with his shirt off either.) The makeout scenes could have been deleted, for... more

One day, the birds just go nuts and start killing people! Now, in anyone else's hands, this could have been a ridiculous disaster. Under the supreme guidance of Alfred Hitchcock, THE BIRDS is a genuine horror classic! The phonebooth, attic, and house-under-siege scenes are fantastic! Features:- Cary Grant is the screen s supreme man-on-the-run in his fourth and final teaming with director Alfred Hitchcock. He plays a Manhattan adman plunged into a realm of spy (James Mason) and counterspy (Eva Marie Saint) and variously abducted, framed for murder, chased and in a signature set-piece, crop-dusted. He also hangs for dear life from the facial features of Mount Rushmore s Presidents. Savor

| | 5. Rebecca |
| Starring: Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, Judith Anderson, George Sanders, Gladys Cooper Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock October 14, 2008
I read the book and couldn't put it down until I finished it. After reading the book I wanted to see the movie so ordered it from Amazon. The movie, unlike most movies, closely followed the book's story. Hitchcok directs in his usually superb way. Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine turned in excellent performances. I would recommend this movie to anyone but also would suggest ordering the book as well... more

After sensing Margot's affections for Halliday, her husband, Tony Wendice, fears divorce and disinheritance, and plots her death. Knowing former school chum Captain Lesgate is involved in illegal activities, Tony blackmails him into conspiring to kill Margot
I wouldn't put this movie in the top drawer of Hitchcock's output but it's still well worth watching. With the DVD, the extra features are very illuminating and watching the analysis of people like Peter Bogdanovich deepens the viewer's understanding and enjoyment.
The movie is based on a successful play by Frederick Knott, one of those playwrights much celebrated in their own time and... more

| | 7. Notorious |
| Starring: Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, Claude Rains, Charles D. Brown, Wally Brown October 14, 2008
Director Alfred Hitchcock is also the master of the spy/espionage film as he puts Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman together for perhaps the most perfect movie I have seen in years.
Ingrid's character is Alicia Huberman, whose father has just been convicted of treason in his involvement with the Nazis. Devlin (Cary Grant) has her followed and ends up in her apartment with friends. ... more

So much has been written about "Vertigo" itself that a buyer of the "Legacy Series" DVD of the film is probably most interested in whether or not this is a better or worse DVD of the film than has been available before.
The "Legacy Series" edition of "Vertigo" is a significant upgrade from prior DVD issues of the film. Nevertheless, it is unclear if this edition is a higher resolution... more
