3 out of 5 starsNot the original
To those of us who have been collecting/playing since we were young, This is a big change from the Original second costume Storm Shadow. I like this one because it holds a close replica of the orginal. Most of the 25th anniversary I would stay away from if you are a traditionalist of the 80s figures. If you are too young to remember those, then yes these are a fun new set.

5 out of 5 starsThe Ninjas are back!!!
Storm Shadow version 2 is a very cool addition to any collectors GI Joe Collection.

While Storm Shadow does not have all of the same equipment as his original Version 2 (all weapons are recycled from previous 25th Ann Storm Shadows) it does not take away from the grandness of this figure.

Buy it if you're a fan of the character. You'll like it.

5 out of 5 starscorrection
Just to correct the last review, and not to be a jerk either.
1. TRUE storm shadow WAS a member of cobra in the begining, he was only there to find out who murdered his uncle.(SNake eyes' sensei) once he found out he defected to G.I.Joe.
2. as stated previously Storm Shadow DID NOT murder snake-eyes' sensai, zartan did, but used storm shadow's arrow to frame him.
3. Storm Shadow and Snake-eyes are sword brothers and still get along.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

p.s. these figures are great

4 out of 5 starsHasbro messed up!
Wait, hold on just one second...

Storm Shadow, as every true fan of G.I. Joe knows, is a member of COBRA!!!

I got this one because I couldn't very well buy Snake Eyes without his ARCH ENEMY, Storm Shadow. Right!?!
So imagine my surprise when looking on the packaging directly above the figure, there's this big blank spot where it should say "COBRA ENEMY".

Huh?

I turned the package over fully expecting some sort of verification of Mr. Shadow's aberrant inclinations...
Low and behold, righ there on the back of the package on the "File Card", it inexplicably reads:

"Storm Shadow served with Snake Eyes in Southeast Asia and both of them later studied the secret art of Ninjitsu with the family of Storm Shadow, a ninja clan that could trace its history back through thirty generations of ninjas. Unhinged by the murder of his uncle and mentor, he infiltrated Cobra seeking revenge, but found vengeance to be a poor substitute for life. Now, in semi-retirement at a remote mountain hideaway, he occasionally takes on a special mission or two if Snake Eyes asks him nicely. "

True, Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were hommies at one time, but if memory serves me correctly, it was none other than Stormy himself that murdered Snake Eyes' sensi! The act which forever marked Storm Shadow as Snake Eyes' nemesis. Like, if those two were in the same room together, watch the f' out 'cause there's gonna be some major fisticuffs flying!

I don't know where Hasbro got the notion that Storm Shadow is "semi-retired", especially when the ORIGINAL version of Stormy is available in the 1st Wave Cobra Legions pack and clearly has the Cobra emblem in red on his chest. Oh, and another bastardized version of Storm Shadow also comes with the 2nd Wave Cobra Legions pack, but at least he's in the right company!

Anyways, that GLARING oversight(?) aside, this Storm Shadow is pretty neat. I remember when they came out with his "urban camo" look originally and I was stoked on it. Plenty of detail in the figure (that the original toys lacked, but hey, most of us blew them up with firecrackers anyways) and the artwork on the package is true to the original, if not the stuff they originally used back in the late '80s.

Just remember kiddies, Storm Shadow is an evil member of COBRA!
He'd more likely embed a shruiken in Snake Eyes' brain if he even came within spitting distance of "asking him nicely" to go on a frolicking adventure with the Joes. Sheesh Hasbro, wtf?

4 out of 5 starsAlmost as good as the original 3.5''
A re-imagined reproduction of the original 3.5'' Storm Shadow.
I was impressed with the new design and the new levels of articulation.
It's interesting that you can pop the character's head on and off to remove his quiver/sheath.
I grew up with the 3.5 inch Joes and though I don't play with toys anymore, I couldn't help but open these up and put them in cool poses... Really brings back memories.
