Product Description: The classic game of guts and luck is Farkel and this is the classic Farkel set. It is still small enough for portability, the game tube measures 4.5 tall and 2 wide. It includes 6 regular sized blue playing dice, a roll-up score pad, miniature pencil, and instructions. One of the world's best dice games, Farkel is a fun, fast-paced, high-score game that takes just two minutes to learn. You roll six dice, remove only the dice you want to use for points, and then re-roll the remaining dice. Some scoring dice must be removed after every roll. If you can eventually make all six dice count for score, pick them all up and keep going. If none of the dice you roll count for score, you lose your turn and any points you made during that turn. The first player to score more than 10,000 points, wins. Six dice plus feeling lucky equals Farkel! For 2 or More Players, Ages 8 and Up.
Great family fun! On a visit to an older relative, we learned to play this game. Since then, we take the game as we travel and over to friends homes and play it in small or big groups. Simple enough to be played by younger kids, and has enough finesse to have possible playing strategies for us mature players. We usually laugh a lot when we play this. Although it's not strictly educational game, it helps you to learn to add. I have a lot of great memories associated with this game already. Inexpensive, but a great value, makes a great gift for people who love to play games.
Lots of fun, but not "intense" This product is fun, but is not "intense" as the game says. My 13 year-old grandson and I played several games. It is educational because you have to add large numbers.
Lots of fun for both kids and adults! This is a great game! It's fun to play with adults, but just as fun for children. We play it camping and at home. This particular size is great for those who can't see the dots on the dice. The pocket size is great for kids' little hands.
More scoring options I learned a slightly different version of this game from family. In the version we were playing you only used 5 dice (Farkel uses 6) and the scoring was much more limited. When I read the description I decided to try this one because it had higher scores. I was also pleased to learn of the high stakes version of the rules which really makes things interesting. You have the option of continuing the previous player's turn and if you don't throw a losing roll, you get the same score they had plus whatever you just added.
There is also another version called Spicy Farkel which adds the capability of multiplying your score if you have red sided dice on your roll. I bought them both but you could save some money and just buy the Spicy version. The Spicy Farkel even includes rules for a different game that uses the same red sided dice. Farkel has made an already fun game even better.
