Is your monster misbehaving? Is he eating your favorite shirts? Is he using your hairbrush to clean his teeth? Is he annoying your family on car trips? Never fear those monster mishaps again!
Laura Numeroff and Nate Evans, the world's leading experts on monsters and the mischief they make, have created the ultimate 10-Step Guide to Living With Your Monster.
A portion of the proceeds from Laura Numeroff's 10-Step Guide To Living With Your Monster will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Amazon.com: Who wouldn't benefit from a few helpful hints about the care and feeding of pet monsters? In their handy how-to guide, bestselling author Laura Numeroff (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie) and monster illustrator extraordinaire Nate Evans are happy to oblige with such pearls of wisdom as, "When choosing a monster, do not pick one who grabs you and starts to eat your shirt," and "Always read your monster a bedtime story. Do not tell your monster to count sheep. Counting sheep will make him hungry." Numeroff's deadpan presentation of the 10 steps to selecting and living with a pet monster is the perfect foil to Evans's hilarious, rowdy pictures. Purple polka dots and big bug-eyes reign, as the puppy-like personality of the featured monster wreaks havoc all over his adoptive home. Ever since the animated film, Monsters, Inc., monsters have enjoyed a renaissance as lovable (if incorrigible) imaginary companions. Children with a soft spot for weird, warted beasts will adore the silliness of this lighthearted "manual." (Ages 3 to 7) --Emilie Coulter
Everyone need a Monster What a delightful book! Illustrations have the right mixture between funny and just a tweensy bit scary, giving reader and child lots of opportunity to discuss myth and reality of monsterdom. My 3 year old granddaughter loves to look at the pictures and scream and then laugh.
Love it! 10-Step Guide... is full of imaginative fun. Ms. Numeroff's clever writing style and Mr. Evan's playful illustrations really come together nicely to offer an enjoyable experience for the reader. I am also impressed that part of the proceeds from the sale of the book goes to Michael J. Fox's Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Monster Fun..... Laura Numeroff and Nate Evans have authored the quintessential resource guide for monster acquisition and care. Find out how to choose the very best monster, and how to pick the right name. "You don't want to call him Hercules when you sister calls him Fluffy." Learn what to feed him, where to take him, how to handle a visit to the vet, and how to train him..."This may take some time." Get grooming tips, bedtime strategies, and hints for monster games and entertainment. And always remember, be good to your monster and he'll be good to you..... Ms Numeroff's silly, clever text is full of energy, humor and fun, and complemented by Mr Evans' engaging bold, bright, and busy illustrations. Together this dynamic duo have come up with a list of dos and don'ts, no monster lover can live without. Perfect for preschoolers, Laura Numeroff's 10-Step Guide To Living With Your Monster is a joyous, manic romp little ones will beg to read again and again.
Laura Numeroff's 10-Step Guide to Living with Your Monster This is a great book! My son loved it. It reads with the fun-lovingness that Laura Numeroff uses in her "Give a Mouse a Cookie" series and Nate Evans' art is a true joy to look at! Good goofy fun!
Good, good fun...as usual. Once again, this team has put together a delightful book. Your little ones will love it doubly: both listening to it and reading it to you. However, what was as fun was giving it as a gift to several of my single women friends currently involved w/ various "monsters" of their own. What hoots that's causing still!
