Product Description:
Genre: Television, Comedies, Series, Comedy, Puppets, Television, Recommended, Reality-Based (Tv), Cable Tv/Cable Tv Shows, Comedians/Comediennes, Comedy Skits, Television Shows, Television/TV Series Description: Comic provocateurs Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla (THE MAN SHOW) unleash another blast of politically-incorrect humor with their Comedy Central series CRANK YANKERS. Like a visual companion to The Jerky Boys, CRANK YANKERS finds Kimmel, Carolla, and several of their comedian friends--among them Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Tracy Morgan, and David Cross--making real prank phone calls to unsuspecting individuals and businesses while puppets act out the scenario on screen. With ample doses of outrageous improvisation and a cast of recurring characters that includes the lascivious Spoonie Luv, confused senior citizen Elmer Higgins, cantankerous war veteran Dick Birchum, and, of course, mentally challenged teen Special Ed, CRANK YANKERS parlays the bastions of bad taste into oddly compelling hilarity. This collection includes the first 15 episodes of season two. Release Notes: DVD Features: Region 1 Keep Case 2-Disc Set Full Frame - 1.33

5 out of 5 starsEven funnier than season 1
In season 2, Birchum (Adam Carolla) and Elmer (Jimmy Kimmel) have perfected the way they make their calls. Spoonie Luv (Tracy Morgan) makes a hilarious call to a karate school to see if he can learn martial arts because he is going to prison soon. David Alan Grier has one of the funniest calls where he says he is a former athlete called The Truth and he wants to be the spokesman for a sports retail store. Almost every single call is great. My favorite caller is named Jeff Garlin. He basically just makes up jibberish. "And then you know if I got the corn and a Cadillac, we gonna mix em together and a little fudge pie, I'd love to do that, but we gonna have to meet you down at the library as opposed to what we said earlier". I wish he had more than 2 calls.

There are also calls from Wanda Sykes, Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Florentine, Snoop Dog, Super Dave Osborne, Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, Fred Armisen, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Nealon, David Cross, Seth Mcfarlane, Bobcat Goldthwait, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Dane Cook, and many others.

This season 2 volume 1 box set has 5 more episodes than the season 1 box set. And I got it even cheper than the season 1 box set. Now if I could just get my hands on volume 2. Too bad it is a rare out of print item these days.

1 out of 5 starsGREEDY! GRDDY! GREEDY!
Regardless of how good is the second season I refuse to buy split seasons into volumes! We sould all show the network how unhappy we are from this greedy decision despite of the the fact that the second season was very good.

1 out of 5 starsso lame.
I love crank yankers, especially season two, but two or more volumes for one season is absolutely ridiculous. I refuse to buy into this type of greedy marketing. I hope that others will as well. this completely defeats the purpose of buying seasons on dvd. Lame! I was really looking forward to buying this set to.

5 out of 5 starsComedy Central sucks, but it's still a great season
Yes, Comedy Central sucks eggs for splitting this season into two DVDs. Season Two IS the best season of this show by far, however, so I feel that the show should still be judged on its merits and not on the network's outrageous greed.

2 out of 5 starsVolume One? You must be crankin' me!
I've been a casual fan of Crank Yankers for a while, but why not put the whole season in one box set? Comedy Central has really been trying their hardest to cash in on their top shows at the consumer's expense, and it's apparently not going to stop here. This Yankerville collection is okay, despite that one obvious flaw, in that the second season is when the true wit of the show came into full form. We all know and love good ole Special Ed and love god Niles Standish (Don Knotts, move over), of which the inclusion of these skits are a standout. That, plus we get to see Mitch Hedburg calling shots.

Speaking of, where are the extras at? There is nothing "extra" about the special features on these discs. A couple of "unaired" calls to throw the dog a bone are here and little else, making me feel like I was cheated of the DVD experience. If you're a hardcore fan, then you might want to buy this, but for folks like me who simply get a kick out of the show while it's on, we might as well stick to cable. I will not be purchasing any future releases of Crank Yankers, not even volume two (which should be the best of the season, if memory serves me correctly).
