Amazon.com: Michael Bublé's assured debut and the tireless year of globe-trotting touring he spent promoting it elevated the 20-something Vancouver native into the first rank of pop crooner revivalists. His sophomore studio follow-up largely turns on the same formula that helped make his considerable vocal prowess so attractive to mainstream audiences, mixing the nigh flawless, if expected Sinatra-channeling ("I've Got You Under My Skin") with more playful and inviting renditions of pop standards like the Gershwin's "A Foggy Day in London Town," "Feeling Good," "Try A Little Tenderness" and Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." But it's the eclectic mix of more contemporary material the singer seasons them with -- apt tribute to Bublé hero Bobby Darin -- that keeps him walking the narrow tightrope between artistic intrigue (a blues-tinged vamp of Holland-Dozier-Holland's "How Sweet It Is," Leon Russell's lovely "Song For You," with a guest turn by Chris Botti) and the kitsch-laden abyss ("Quando, Quando, Quando"'s Euro-centric duet with Nelly Furtado, a ring-a-ding-fling with the Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" that echoes fellow Canadian crooner/rival Matt Dusk's more successful flirtation with Lennon-McCartney). Arranger/producer Tommy LiPuma offers Bublé a welcome swinging jazz showcase on "The More I See of You," a bracing respite from the rest of producer David Foster's slick, if typically bloodless MOR production. -- Jerry McCulley [Note: This Special Edition includes two extra tracks: "Dream a Little Dream" and "Mack the Knife."]
Yet another phenomenal Canadian singer As a musician and singer myself - I know good chops and this young man has them. His singing is balanced and easy, fantastic tone quality - BETTER than Frankie boy, with more warmth, power and breadth in his voice. He delivers the goods on every one of his songs - he has artistic depth and sensitivity and isn't just another "pusher/belter" out there hiding behind a mic. He's the real-deal. If this guy doesn't make it to super-stardom the world's taste is in it's Big Macs.
It's Time You Listen To Michael Bublé I first heard of Michael Bublé from a friend of mine and I was immediately hooked and had to go out and buy this CD. His style is at once a throwback and completely new. He evokes Sinatra on "A Foggy Day," " Save The Last Dance For Me" is a swinging number that always make me get up to dance and "Home" is just beautiful. This is a stronger, more assured album from his first release.
His cover of "Can't Buy me Love" is so much fun and always turns heads when I play it at the office.
If you're looking to hear a male vocalist with that doesn't sound like he's been sucking in helium or if you are just looking to hear someone who can really sing and doesn't need to scream at an audience to prove it, you owe it to yourself to check out Michael Bublé. In the years to come he is sure to become a major force in music.
Wow This is my 1st Michael Buble CD. Not only does Michael have an amazing voice to listen to but the band behind him is just as amazing. The band can take 50% of the credit for this being such a great album to listen to. Michael knows how to put feeling into his voice that makes you think he is singing directly to you. If you like music to swoon to, you will love this. His voice is a cross between Frank Sinatra and Frankie Avalon.
Fantastic CD Michael Buble is phenomenal. Song number 5 HOME is a choker-upper at our houses, but we all love it and sing it out loud. Right now our family is separated by miles - but not for too much longer - the CD has tremendous sentimental value in our homes already and we will still be singing it I'm sure when we are all reunited again.
A star! After having watched recent movies with his music featured, I wanted to buy this CD! It is well worth the price and the variety of music is great. The music will be enjoyed by all!
