Product Description:
Directed by Paul Lynch, this cult horror masterpiece starring Leslie Nielsen and scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis paved the way for future slasher films and inspired such blockbusters as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. For six long years, Hamilton High School seniors Kelly (Marybeth Rubins), Jude (Joy Thompson), Wendy (Eddie Benton), and Nick (Casey Stevens) have been hiding the truth of what happened to ten-year-old Robin Hammond the day her broken body was discovered near an old abandoned convent. The foursome kept secret how they taunted Robin - backed her into a corner until, frightened, she stood on a window ledge...and fell to her death. Though an accident, the then-twelve-year-olds feared they'd be held responsible and vowed never to tell. But someone else was there that day...watching. And now, that someone is ready to exact murderous revenge - on prom night.

Amazon.com:
When it comes to an expressive set of lungs for horror, it's hard to match Jamie Lee Curtis, who set the standard for nonstop screaming in Halloween. She built her reputation as a scream queen in such subsequent outings as The Fog, Terror Train, and this similarly themed and relatively subpar horror outing. A progenitor of I Know What You Did Last Summer, this film focuses on four high school friends on prom night who are being stalked by a masked maniac seeking revenge for a death that occurred six years earlier. Guess who lives to tell the tale? --Marshall Fine

5 out of 5 starsTerrific old school slasher
PROM NIGHT retains a strong cult following among slasher enthusiasts, mostly due to its starring of Curtis and its assistance in molding and following the "rules" of horror. Though it has fallen off the radar for most horror lists, definitely check it out at some point. There is plenty of 80's low budget cheese to be had, and it makes for a good history lesson in the evolution of horror over the past thirty years. Plus any movie that has the balls to throw a twelve-year-old out a window into a pane of broken glass has got count for something.

4 out of 5 starsFour stars for misdirction
Fist off let me say this is a really good movie.it does a great job of building up suspence toward the climax of the film.this movie gets four stars for the misdirection effect it uses which is great.through the whole movie i kept thinking i knew who the killer was and they finally showed him is was not any of my suspects which was good, keeps you guessing til the very end.not a big body count but when some one dies its in a very greusome way.horror fans should watch and own this great slasher but avoid the remake at ALL costs.sit back and enjoy this classic, you wont regret it.

2 out of 5 starsBoring and dervitive slasher flick.
Well what can I say about Prom Night, this slasher film was released during the early 80's and was regarded as a classic although it was probably called a classic just because it featured Jaimie Lee Curtis, Prom Night starts off promising with some great camera-work and what seems to be an attempt to build suspense but soon loses steam. The middle half was kind of dull and yawn inducing, I'm not sure what the director was thinking but he seems to be fond of disco music so if you have a high tolerance for this type of cheesy music then you might enjoy this. The acting wasn't particularly that good except from Jaimie Lee Curtis the other characters weren't really that interesting and it did not keep my interest and I usually love these type of slasher flicks like Halloween, Happy Birthday To Me, The Burning ect. but I just couldn't like this film at all no matter how many times I tried, it had tedious stalk and slash scenes which are completely devoid of suspense and was predictable. I already knew who the killer was so there wasn't any mystery but atleast it was better than Terror Train which isn't saying much and there was that unintentionally hilarious and outdated highschool dance scene, anyway if you like older slasher flicks which have an incredibly slow pace and tons of disco music without any nudity and gore then you might like this film but if not then I suggest you skip it and watch a better slasher flick like The Burning or The Prowler instead.

1 out of 5 starsWait....Wasn't Jamie Lee Curtis suppose to be in this???
This movie was so bad. Jamie Lee Curtis was the main actress, but where the hell was she in the movie. They should've saved themselves about twenty thousand dollars to make it seem more realistic because Curtis' character didn't have anything to even do with this movie.

4 out of 5 starsGreat 80's Slasher
Prom Night is in my opinion a great film. Jamie Lee is the scream queen!! She plays Kim the main character, who's twin sister died when she was 8 years old, in a tragic accident, when some kids pushed her from a window. Now the kids, including Kim are high school age, and all getting ready for the prom, but there is a killer who wants to dance the final dance with all of them. The music is actually post disco, the rest of the actors are decent. Jamie Lee is great in this early 80's slasher classic!
