Amazon.com: Wild Things is the kind of lurid, trashy thriller that you'll either dive into with unabashed pleasure or turn away from in prudish disgust; it's entirely your choice, but we suggest the former option since it's obviously much more fun. The plot's so convoluted it's hardly worth describing, except to say that it's set in humid Florida and involves a respected high school teacher (Matt Dillon--yes, Matt Dillon as a teacher!) who is faced with accusations of rape by a student (Denise Richards, from Starship Troopers) who had been giving him the kind of attention most people would consider improper for such a "nice" young lady. Another student (Neve Campbell) raises a similar charge against the teacher, and that's when a police officer (Kevin Bacon) begins to investigate the allegations. Just when you think the movie's gone overboard with its shameless sex and absurdly twisted plot, in drops Bill Murray as an unscrupulous lawyer (of course) to spice things up with insurance scams and welcomed comic relief. As directed by John McNaughton (who has a way of making just the right moves with this kind of film noir melodrama), Wild Things is a bona fide guilty pleasure--the kind of movie you may be ashamed to enjoy, but what the heck, you'll enjoy it anyway. --Jeff Shannon
Beats "Basic Instinct" by a mile This is the best "camp" erotic film in the past quarter century, hands down. Not only is it a guilty pleasure for viewers of lesbian acts, but it also shows Kevin Bacons acting skills, which aren't the highest to begin with (he was also the Executive Producer), which probably explains why we get a gratuitous shot of his penis. I think the true shinning point of the film, is Bill Murray's off-script banter as Matt Dillons laywer. How they got him into this blatant flesh romp is a total wonderment to myself, but without him, I'd be laughing for ALL the wrong reasons. If you're looking for beautiful scenery of both Florida, and the nakedness of Denise Richards and a rather good looking for her age Theresa Russell, then you will never miss with this over-the-top indulgence in camp film making history. A true gem that beats "Basic Instinct"...hands down!
Just like the original but much prettier. I really liked Wild Things the story is good. So when they re-released this on blu-ray I of course picked it up. Its has really good picture quality. If you liked this movie but never bought it the blu-ray version is the way to go.
great and easy transaction! Great and easy transaction--fast shipping and product arrived in great condition. I would definitely recommend this seller!
Better than expected I never would have thought that this movie had scenes that could show off the power of 1080 but i was sure wrong. Any of you who remember the pool scene will know that just that in hd was well worth it. Along with all the other veiws of florida that are in the movie.
well worth the money
Best movie ever! This is such a fantastic movie. I watch it all the time. Love all the twists in it. Must watch!
