Amazon.com: Cuba Gooding Jr. still has the exuberant energy that won him an Academy Award for Jerry Maguire--though his subsequent career choices have not been so golden. Still, he's a charming fellow, and his charisma makes Boat Trip surprisingly inoffensive, despite its plot: After being dumped by his girlfriend, Jerry (Gooding) sinks into a depressive funk until his buddy Nick (Horatio Sanz) drags him to a singles cruise--not realizing they've been sent on a gay singles cruise by a vengeful travel agent. But Jerry meets Gabrielle (Roselyn Sanchez), a sexy dance instructor, and falls head over heels--but to maintain her trust, he has to pretend to be just another gay guy out for a little sea air. Though thick with gay stereotypes, Boat Trip actually has a modest gay-men-are-people-too theme that makes the movie innocuous fluff. Also featuring Vivica A. Fox, Roger Moore, Will Farrell, and Playboy playmate Victoria Silvstedt. --Bret Fetzer

Guilty Fun & Victoria Silvstedt! Speaking stricly as a heterosexual male, Boat Trip has shameless, "been there, done that" homosexual jokes, and crude humor that you may laugh at out of shear embarassment.
There are also some crude scenes involving a "straight" man, with a "long fellow" when he discovers a group of Scandanavian Goddesses on board...lead by the drop-dead gorgeous Victoria Silvstedt...who could make many "alternative men" straight (in more ways than one)!
Take the movie for what it is - shameless, crude laughs...and enjoy it.
Funny This movie kept me laughing.. Just when i thought it couldn't get any funnier .. it did.
This isnt even funny at all!!! I dont accept watching this movie 2nd time because what bothers me is about 2 straight men was picking on gay people and made fun of and lied to the ladies they met off gay cruise!!! HELLO?!? I am a gay male and if someone like Cuba and his so-called buddy start something to me I would stood up for myself and fight back and if I was a female I dont need a lying dumba** f**k like Cuba that was been playing games. This movie deserves 1 star I swear to god this movie is T-R-A-S-H!!! Any gay men out there if you havent seen this movie dont buy it you guys dont deserves to watch this kind of nasty movie!!! This movie is all about making fun of, picking on, liars and haters. If I ever meet Cuba and his so-called buddy I would tell these 2 idiots to respect us gay men and that we only have 1 world not 2 doesnt matter if he respect us or not but this movie proves it!! If Cuba respect gay people he shouldnt be playing in this movie in the first place!!! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
You Like Disaster At Sea Films? Watch Titanic Instead What can I say about 'Boat Trip'? Nothing good that's for sure. The one thing that came to mind watching this was, "I can't believe Cuba Gooding Jr. agreed to star in this." 'Boat Trip' released in '06 is a highly offensive film masquerading as a comedy/romance about two straight men who mistakingly find themselves on a gay cruise. It's crude, obscene and in some instances downright pornographic.
Shame on you Cuba, Roselyn, Roger and Vivica. You're all well off enough to be able to pass on this kind of trash.
Baseball Bats Will Never Be The Same One of the things that "Boat Trip" isn't is high level humour of a stimulating kind. However, if some light and crude humour buzzes you, then "Boat Trip" may be just the thing you are looking for.
Two guys both have differing love issues, (one gets dumped for a car detailer and the other just hasn't gotten past 1st base except with a 51-year-old with a fake leg). As a solution, they book a cruise, but the vindictive travel agent books them both on a gay cruise in revenge for their argument with his boyfriend.
The marriage between romance "feel good" and crude sexual innuendo just doesn't work as well in "Boat Trip" as it has with other movies. The plot certainly has a lot of potential, but that seemed rather unrealised in many ways.
Being of simple humour, I enjoyed a lot of the antics of Cuba Gooding Jr and Horatio Sanz as they both solved their problems in their own unique ways. The movie particularly showed Gooding's versatilty in his ability to play a fairly light role, as well as the more serious ones in other movies.
"Boat Trip" is certainly not up there with other trip oriented movies, but is good for a chuckle. That is, if sexual humour is what you like. If not, pass on this one.
