Of Unknown Origin I hadn't seen this movies in years but I really enjoyed this movie. I like Peter Weller especially.
Robocop vs. Huge Rat, Round 1 Fight!!!. Peter Weller (Robocop) turns his home into a battleground in this fun little b-movie horror film. The film starts of with Peter Weller's character who has a beautiful wife and a son who live in a classy New York apartment as hes ready to go to work, soon both his wife and son leave to visit some relatives during the weekend so he will have some time to get some office work done, unfortunately for him there seems to be a little problem. There seems to be a huge rodent roaming around the apartment and it has really become a nuisance of course he calls the exterminator but that doesn't help infact it seems like things are getting much worse as this disgusting rodent seems to outsmart its opponent and Peter's character can't take it anymore so he has to go to extreme measures in order to get rid of this problem and he becomes totally obsessed it seems to have taken over his life and sanity. Of Unknown Origin was a pretty good horror film even though there were some corny parts I still liked it its sort of like a guilty pleasure movie so I watch it when theres nothing else on T.V..
awesome movie When I was little I had a fear of rats and this movie made it even worse. It terrified me.I still watched it over and over though. Many years later I finally saw it again and it still scared me though I found out is wasn't so much about the rat but about this mans obsession with destroying it. It starts when his wife and young son go on vacation to visit her parents.Soon after Peter starts encountering the rat.He tries to work and the rat is thumping against the ceiling. He tries setting rat poison and rat traps all to no avail. One night the rat comes out of the toilet while he was peeing.Another night after taking in a stray cat he finds it ripped up and killed. He goes to the basment and finds a nest of little rats only to be attacked. The attack scenes are pretty good and actually kind of chilling. The rat completely took over his life. One of my favorite scenes is at the business dinner when Peter starts to spew off all these random facts about rats. The final scene in which he completely destroys his house trying to kill this rat is awesome and shows just how obsessed he has become. Overall this is a solid flick. It delivers a few nice scares, the music is eery and the setting is also cool.Peter Weller also gives a great and believable performance.Give this movie a chance and you will enjoy this.
Your Move......Creep Of Unknown origin is one of those long forgotten and fun horror films of the 80s. Stephen King cites this as one of his all time favorite horror movies. Of course, whether or not you can actually consider this a horror film is debatable, but what else would you categorize it as? The plot is quite simple, and that's all part of the appeal. Buckaroo Banzai himself finds his home invaded by a rat after his family takes off for a few days. It starts off as an annoying nuisance, but soon turns into obsession as Weller tries to kill the damn thing. He sorta falls into a sort of temporary insanity that affects his work performance and all those around him(of course I'd go a bit batty if I had to go a few days without Shannon Tweed myself). It starts out simply enough with some damaged furniture and wiring. Traps naturally don't work, neither does the exterminator or pretty much any other conventional means. By the time we reach the climax of the film, Weller's decked out in a helmet(with flashlight of course), kneepads and a homemade spiked club ready to enter a duel to the death with the invading rodent, practically destroying his home in the process(you're reminded time and again that Weller practically built the house himself as to make the damage all the more shocking). We only see the rat in a few quick shots. These are shots of an actual rat at various angles to give the illusion that it's larger than the average rat. It's kinda hard to get an idea of how big the rat actually is until one scene where it slips under the covers of Weller's bed. Then we can see it's about the size of a basketball or small dog. Like I said before, it's a fun film. The simple premise, the unintentional quirkiness, and a good performance by Weller all add up to a fun and entertaining time. Rediscover(or discover) a fun, forgotten film.
Robocop vs. Ratzilla... Bart Hughes (Peter Weller) has a vermin problem of a most severe nature. When his wife (Shannon Tweed!!!!) and son go away for a vacation, a rat the size of a dog makes its presence known. At first, it only eats through a few cereal boxes, but as the days go by, the über-rat increases the damage quotient while driving poor Bart crazy! Since traps and poisons are useless, Bart declares war on the beast, which culminates in a house-destroying game of whack-a-rat! There's plenty of humor to enhance the horror, and yes, Ms. Tweed dons her birthday suit! What are you waiting for??...
