ps2 ^ The ps2 slim is better than the original in that it operates a little faster, it's more space efficient, and it has the upgrades, such as the IR port for remote control access, and all that. It seems a little frail if standing on its side with a stand, but there are other aftermarket stands for horizontal and verticle that make it more sturdy. I used wireless controllers, so I didn't worry about cords pulling the unit off the stand.
2009 and on its way out ^ I don't know why so many people had problems with the Slim Line PS2. I bought mine as soon as they became available and as of about March 2009 am seeing a few problems with it playing DVD's and the AC cord occasionally has problems staying connected. This system has seen its fair share of abuse, has never been cleaned and has been dropped many times. Maybe I just got lucky but I don't believe so. My friend has the same system and has had it for the same amount of time he is not having problems either. I think it is a great system overall!
Not Enough Ram ^ I wish I had done my homework before purchasing this system. It has half the ram of an regular xbox console. Game performance was slow. Navigating was slow. Size is great. It will fit anywhere.
save and save often ^ the slim version of the ps2 is a cute little system, easer to pack away when you are moving from place to place. however there is one flaw, it has no fan and will frequently turn itself off for no apperent reason. some time it over heats, sometimes it just decides it really doesn't want to play that movie. while i would recomend getting a ps2 i would look for its bulkier cousin, for while its bulky it has not heating problems, and doesn't have a mind of its own
Love the slimmer version ^ I actually have the silver version of this new PS2 but I'm too lazy to search for it on here. Anyway, it's very small and works great! Nothing else to say!
