Product Description: The international favorite. Create runs and sets of numbers in this classic, all-family game. In this top quality set the tiles are thicker, brighter and feature an easy grip contour. Racks are one piece and snap together to form a carry case
Editorial Review: With rules similar to gin rummy, Rummikub is a classic tile game that's guaranteed to get at least a million kid-hours of use in any family. Players take 14 numbered tiles and try to get rid of them as fast as possible by creating runs (for example, 7-8-9) and sets (7-7-7). The most fun aspect of the game--and the part that's best for creative strategic thinking--is that you can pilfer from and rearrange the efforts of other players in your attempts to part company with more tiles. This deluxe edition is cleverly designed so that the four plastic tile racks fit together to form a carrying case for the game. --Richard Farr
Worst version of the best game I love this game and play it all the time. However, NEVER buy the version with 'contour grip.' The other version has the numbers engraved and the paint is inside those indentations. The contour grip is a smooth slightly convex surface with the numbers painted on them. The numbers chip and wear away very quickly. Many of my pieces are now all but unreadable.
Rummikub = Brain food On a 'girls get-away', my sister brought this game to the beach and introduced it to us. After each enjoyable day and wonderful dinner, we looked forward to the 'strain on the brain' as we each thought and strategized our own plan to win. Lots of fun too! I had to have my own game when I returned from vacation, and I know we'll have lots of fun/family 'thinking sessions' with it.
Great brain exercise. This is a great game for those who like a little challenge. It does require a little space - a big table or plenty of floor. It's pretty easy to alter the rules for younger/inexperienced players. Beginners may get a little frustrated when playing with those who have had it for a while, but the learning curve evens out quick. One of the pegs on a board broke off after only a few uses, but we're just a little more careful with the others.
Great game - cheap plastic I have had this edition for a couple years, and the plastic has broken, so now the game tiles are stored in a ziploc. If I were to buy again, I would go for the good old standard case edition. My mother's is 20+ years and is still in good condition.
Rummikub game This is a great game for adults and kids. It is only for 4 people but we have put 2 games together to play w/ more people. It is great fun and strategic.
