Amazon.com: If you're going to pitch a movie about cyber-revolutionaries to plugged-in audiences, you'd best mind your MP3s and BPMs when choosing soundtrack selections. The cynical wireheads who flock to such high-tech conspiracy flicks as Brazil and Hackers are thrillseekers of the highest caliber, and The Matrix soundtrack meets this challenge faster than a speeding cyborg. The opener, Marilyn Manson's anti-consumerism rant "Rock Is Dead," paints an aural portrait of urban decay. Ominous sirens permeate the Propellerheads' drum 'n' bass track "Spybreak!"; mournful piano alternates with hard shiny beats on Rob D's "Clubbed to Death"; and Meat Beat Manifesto fills "Prime Audio Soup" with enough bleeps to make one imagine being trapped inside a motherboard in Hell. It may sound dismal, but the friction permeating this compilation of techno, grindcore, and heavy metal is energizing enough to make fans of these genres feel the same unity as a clandestine community of hackers. --Kristy Ojala
When I can't watch the movie, the music takes me to the Matrix anyway Great Movie and Excellent Soundtrack! Both the first and second Matrix movies (Matrix and Matrix Reloaded) have the best music complementing the action scenes and invoking memories when listening to the respective soundtracks. Haven't been too pleased with the Matrix Revelations soundtrack though. Therefore, if you love this trilogy, get at least the first two music CDs to add to the experience. You won't be sorry!
not bad I liked the music in the movie, so obviously I like this CD. However, some of the tracks were just sampled a bit in the movie. These tracks tended to be overlong dance club music.
Great Album This is a soundtrack I can listen to again and again. Loaned out my original one and never got it back. Well now I have it back and boy is it nice.
great movie, awesome soundtrack this is one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a long time. the songs really go well and compliment the movie. i was blown away when i first saw "The Matrix", and the soundtrack blew me away even more. with tracks from the propellerheads, rob d, meat beat manifesto, prodigy, and rage against the machine to name a few, this is a great electronic/metal collection.
Must Have If you liked the Motion Picture then you have to add the cd to your collection, you will love it.
