Book Description: Smallville, the hit series which follows the adventures of a teenaged Clark Kent and his friends including Lana Lang and a certain Lex Luthor is simply one of the hottest shows on TV. This authorised companion tells you everything you could possibly need to know about season one, and is packed with exclusive interviews, unseen photos, behind the scenes secrets and a complete episode guide. Also included are insights into the world of Smallville, with excerpts from the town newspaper The Smallville Ledger and even a look at the mysterious LexCorp
Author Paul Simpson was granted complete access to the set, and brings you the exclusive inside story of this amazing series, with a Foreword by executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar.
A good book about Smallvilles third season. The book ist well structured and contains interesting information about the characters on the show and the actors themselves. Also the episodes are explained in a comprehensive way , so that the storylines become understandable even to those people who are not Smallville addicted ones yet. These days I own all the three companion books about Smallvilles Season One to three, which I purchased from amazon.com online. I like these books a lot and have almost completed them one by one. The three official companions can only be recommended ! I`m already looking forward to The official Companion Season 4 by Craig Byrne, which I hope will contain coloured pictures. THats why I rated this item with only four stars and not five. In the first three companions all the pictures where in black and white, besides a coloured photo gallery ( the actors ) in the middle of each book.
Decidedly worth it for fans Titan Books does an excellent job summing up the Smallville seasons in all their books, and this third one was no exception. The cast quotes are well chosen and informative, and the behind-the-scenes anecdotes are always amusing. Certainly worth picking up if you're a fan of the show.
Smallville Companion For anyone who loves Smallville this book is for you. It has cool behind the scenes looks into the cast and crew of Smallville. It also has some quotes from the shows and lets you in on things that happen on the set. If there are some things that you don't understand in an episode this book will help you out.
Great show; educational book This book delves deeply into the first season of my favorite TV show. If you are looking for background about the episodes, creators and actors I can't think of a better companion. I can't wait for the season four edition.
Nice guide to series beginning, could have a little more information Nice little guide to season 1 with information on each episode. You'll find out who starred, guest starred, the music used (the DVD set doesn't do that), trivia bits and a photo or two. Each episode is given a paragraph or so about the story followed by a page or two about behind the scenes things by cast & crew. There is also a made up Torch or Smallville Ledger article related to each story. About the middle of the book there is a section of color cast photos, they aren't really episode related but seem to have been taken on location. The final portion of the book has an indepth section on the season finale episode "Tempest" followed by character profiles, including actor comments, there's aso a short "meet the crew" bit and one about the popularity of the show. My biggest complaint about the book is that there are no airdates given for any of the episodes, and you can get them from the DVD set.
