Interesting book This book is full of details and information that I found myself dragging through. It was, however, interesting and makes a person think about what could possibly be true about 2012. It was hard for me to get through it, though, because of all the details. They are, however, necessary to affirm what the author is telling us about the future and the year 2012. Even though it has a lot of facts to study, there is enough general comments about those facts, to not make the book become impossible to understand.
A 360-degree View of the 2012 Phenomenon By offering a diverse compilation of serious essays by several writers about the 2012 phenomenon, this book provides a good overview of what the phenomenon is all about. It offers multiple angles from which to view and understand the challenges implied by the mythical date of 21-12-2012. The reader can choose which side of the 2012-interpretation spectrum he or she can relate to and resonate with. In the end, that's exactly what will probably happen in 2012: it will affect each person according to his/her thoughts, beliefs, ideas, mindset, attitude, intent and personal choices. It will help to be aware and prepared.
2012 2012 is an excellent anthology of all the various takes on the significance of the year 2012. The authors are very well versed in their various fields and their interpretations of what exactly is going to occur is both exciting and hopeful for the most part. We're apparently at a point where many different cycles societally, spiritually, politically and physically as it applies to the earth, the other planets in our solar system, and our solar system with respect to the galactic plane of our Milky Way galaxy are coinciding in a way that its believed, by the authors, to have a profound effect on human kind and the destiny of this planet. Fascinating reading...
The Mystery of 2012 This book changed my life. It is a must buy for anyone who feels disconnected from humanity, you may be evolving spiritually to what 2012 is going to bring. This book gives hope.
All Fluff and No Substance! I can only blame myself for this book. The title alone sums it up: "2012: Predictions, Prophecies, & Possibilities". Because the entire book is about baseless predictions, prophecies, and possibilities. You'd probably get just as creative results if you walked into a class of 3rd graders and asked the question, "what do YOU think will happen in the year 2012?" And their answers will be based on as much fact as is in this book.
I purchased this book because it seemed to have some of the best reviews of any of the 2012 books. I couldn't even finish it - and I ALWAYS finish my books! If you want a book filled with facts and substance - steer clear. If you want a book filled with touch-feely transcendental opinions - buy this book now!
Basically, the book is filled with a bunch of authors' opinions on what will happen - and they try to back them up with facts - they really do! And as long as you can't prove any of your statements, you can pretty much state your opinions as facts, right?!!
You read about every metaphysical theory on the planet in this book - and interestingly enough, they are the EXACT same theories people were saying would happen as a result of alien contact with earth....with the change of the coming of the new millenium (2000)....with just about any wordly event these people can apply them to! Changing the magnetic field, change in human consciousness, an awakening of humanity, blah, blah, blah!
Plus, there are some big egos being thrown around. One author rants about all his Mayan discoveries, and boasts "my findings promised to turbocharge Mayan studies" and "... wrote dozens of essays, each one blazing a new trail..."
In summary, this book has almost completely taken my strong belief that something will happen in 2012 and reversed it. I am now wondering that if these are the so-called experts on the subject, then I'm going to start making vacation plans for 2013.
