Product Description: Collecting the hard-to-find six-issue run of PVP originally published by Dork Storm Press for the first time. This trade paperback includes over ten pages of dorky extras, including preliminary artwork and gaming stats to play the PvP characters in your Mutants and Masterminds d20 campaigns (from Green Ronin Publishing).
Good start, but lacking. I love PVP, let me say that right now.
I realize it's earlier work than the other books, but it has a strange structure that Kurtz is not used to which makes for an awkward read at times. It's not bad, just not his strength. Some the stories seem a little flat at times.
That said, it's still funny as all get out, but it's probably not the best introduction to the PVP staff.
Very funny Great item. Scott Kurtz is hilarious. I had the pleasure of meeting him. He is a great guy.
Just hilarious! Great collection of comics! My only peeve would be that the first of the six comics is kind of boring, but it really just sets up the characters. The other 5 are just hysterical, and parody role-playing games, the Matrix, Christmas, Cupid, and an amazingly spot-on parody of a Japanese Manga. Add to that a special section after the comics which includes some really incredible unused artwork from other artists, based on Scott's characters, and you've got a REALLY good value for less than $10.
Wonderful collection of comics The Dork Ages is a wonderful compilation of the PVP issues before Mr. Kurtz went with Image Comics. It's funny and will ease PVP fans/new readers into a state of laughter. From an anime spoof to a matrix parody, The Dork Ages is sure to tickle the dork's funny bone.
Also watch for PVP at Large, the newest PVP volume.
Make Mine PvP I first stumbled onto PVP as a webcomic and was instantly addicted. Obviously when The Dork Ages came out, I was excited about being able to get the Dork Storm issues in one handy trade paperback. I couldn't put it down. "Funny" doesn't do it justice. For any fan, this is a must-buy.
