This edition emphasizes the acquisition of reading skills and text comprehension through varied cultural and literary readings. The pre- and post-reading activities helped to build my reading skills and understanding of the Spanish language faster than other books I have used in the past. I think that the numerous authentic readings throughout the text were perfect in length and the stories were truly engaging. I definitely recommend this book for all intermediate students who want to learn the Spanish language fast and effectively.
Used for 2 semesters of Spanish in College This book is disorganized and poorly written. Often leaving the easiest lessons for the last chapters. Every teacher I spoke to disliked using this book. In fact, it has caused so much negative controversary that the school system has now switched to a new book-forcing me to use mine as fireplace wood.
