good read Mohr is candid and belly up about his experience with SNL - he 'talks' to the reader as if he is pouring it out to his shrink or a friend - honest storytelling and very compelling.
A fanastic read I'll preface my review by saying that I don't actually find Jay Mohr's stand up all that funny and that's something that was kind of nagging at me while I was reading the book. The book itself is completely enthralling and I couldn't put it down. It is very well written with a ton of great, hilarious stories and its pacing is perfect. Even people who aren't hardcore fans of the show will love it.
speaking for the audio version not as interesting as I thought it would be but I purchased the audio version, I saw later that there were segments in the book not on the cd I received. There was no mention of Farley on the cd, so can't speak for the book , maybe it was better. There were some interesting parts about the behind the scenes stuff from SNL, but the story is told very much from just the one man's point of view so you don't get an overall feel of the show (at least I didn't) Like Jay Mohr's act just not the cd.
Jay Mohr is funny. Good read, very insightful and revealing. Wait, are not those the same things! I'm a moron! Fruuuuuuuuuuuuunkis! Jay is hilarious on O&A and on Ron & Fez.
Loved Every Page Of course the book tells stories of the inner workings of SNL, but the book itself is 3 stories: Jay's dealing with, and treatment of a panic disorder, hilarious stories of things he witnessed and played a part of, him getting totally screwed during his tenure. It's a fantastic book.
