In Memoriam... This--and all other--Fathom products take on a whole new meaning, now that Michael Turner has died. His genius, his talent, is gone forever. And all we have left to celebrate such epic gifts is his body of work...And that's far too meager, he should have had another 30 years, at least. He was only 37.
I'm sure I felt as many of his other fans did: impatient with his slim output in the last few years. I figured this largely had to do with the pressures of starting his own comic book company, Aspen. I didn't realize he had terminal cancer. This purchase is worth every cent: not only is it a masterpiece of creativity drafted by a young artist at the height of his talents, it is also a memorial to that talent, lost too soon.
We'll all miss you, Michael. You were a role-model and an inspiration to an entire generation of young artists. And my heart goes out to his friends and family. Truly, this is a tragic loss for the entire community.
