A wonderful Christmas tradition This book is a great way to bring your focus where it belongs in the busy weeks leading up to Christmas. It's an exciting story full of cliffhangers and anticipation. It can be quite intense so I wouldn't recommend for children under 6 with a healthy understanding of death. Each segment of the story has a follow up to tie it into your life personally. My husband and I loved using this book for advent this year and look forward to trying the rest of the series, and one day sharing it with our children.
Wonderful story for the Advent Season!! We REALLY enjoyed this book for our Advent Season. It is exciting and also very thought provoking. It helped me to ponder on some things that I never thought of before. The book was able to keep the interest of my son who hates to listen to stories. He was begging to read more after each reading but since the book is designed to read a section each night he had to wait. We can't wait to read the other 2 in the series!
Great advent devotional Awesome book for advent. You are supposed to read a chapter a day, but it is hard not to read ahead. Each chapter leaves you wanting more.
Excellent book to help you enter into Advent We are truly enjoying this book! The book is set up to read a couple of pages each day of advent. It never fails, the children beg each night to read just one more chapter! It is full of suspense and many great lessons to help you enter into Advent in a truly meaningful way.
Amazing story My family is in the middle of reading this book. My[...] is simply enthralled with the story each night. He asks questions about things that are in the story. This book has been a springboard for telling him about the Messiah's coming, the geography and climate of the Holy Land, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and lots of other historical things. I highly recommend this book to any family with children old enough to follow a story. I can't wait to see what's going to happen tomorrow night. But one thing, you can't read ahead. That's part of the fun!
