Phonics books I love these books. I am a great believer in reading phonics books to children and books that rhyme and have great sound. When you read to them and talk about what is the same in words, they will make the connection. It's beautifully illustrated, colorful and pretty soon they will be reading it to you. It's a book that is easy enough for them to carry around with them. Great stocking stuffer.
Love the Phonics Readers We are big fans of the Usborne Phonics Readers series. They are perfect for beginning readers. We have the entire series and lend them to friends and neighbors whose children are learning English. I read them to my 3 year old but my 6 year old reads them herself. Of all the books in the series, Hen's Pens is my favorite. She is such a busy little hen and the results of her artistic efforts are humorous.
If you have a 4 or 5 year old who is just on the cusp of reading these books will be a big help.
