Editorial Comments

Amazon.com:
The law of diminishing returns was obeyed assiduously by the three Poltergeist movies, which have been boxed together to show how Hollywood milks an idea for every last ounce of cash it can. The best in this series is the original, directed by Tobe Hooper and produced by Steven Spielberg (who reportedly also lent a hand behind the camera), about a suburban family whose house turns out to have been built on an Native American burial ground. In the film's most clever touch, the disturbed spirits attack the family (and pluck its youngest daughter into the netherworld) through the TV. Oddly, though the family moves away in the sequel, the spirits follow them, then remain committed to harassing the daughter in number three, even though she's gone to stay with relatives. By that last film, the special effects have become the raison d'etre for the whole movie (which later launched an entire cable TV series). Why didn't they just call Ghostbusters? --Marshall Fine

4 out of 5 starsScary!!!
I have seen each individual Poltergeist movie before, but was never able to see them one after the other. If you like scaring yourself, then definitely buy this set!

5 out of 5 starsThe Poltergeist Trilogy
This is one of the most popular, highly acclaimed film trilogies of all time, and there is a reason. These movies are the reasons horror movies ought to be made more often. Heather O'Rourke was a very talented actress in all three films and would have been if she had seen her adulthood. I love all three parts in this series and I'm sure you will too.

5 out of 5 starsThe best sci-fi/horror movies of all time!
Not too scary, not too dull. But everything is cool, and not too far.

The Poltergeist Trilogy is available on video and I'm sorry that I couldn't purchase it because I bought them all seperate. Too bad! I coulda had a box and everything! But anyhow, I just wanted to say when you get this on video you will not be dissapointed! It has awesome special effects and very good plots. The costumes suit exactly to the premis of the trilogy and the screenplays are just what each part needs. My personal favorites are part one and three. They each have their own qualities. Excellent horror flicks!

4 out of 5 starsPoltergeist
These movies are all quite good. However the seaqualitis bug hit and as in most movies the second was a disappiontment from the first. The third in the series was to my surprise was very thrilling and good.

5 out of 5 starsGood Movies
Heather O'rourke is an amazing young actress. All three films are entertaining and exciting. They're scary, but they're worth it!
