Product Description: Writer Jason Aaron (Scalped) and artist Ron Garney (Amazing Spider-Man) bring you a searing epilogue to the biggest X-Men event in a decade. In the aftermath of Messiah Complex, Wolverine has just one thing on his mind: revenge. But who is the focus of his rage, and what dark secret does he share with them? And how far over the edge is Wolverine willing to go to get what he wants? Collects Wolverine #62-65.
Get Mystique follows Wolverine as he hunts down Mystique after her betrayal of the X-Men. The story is told in two veins: the present, with Wolverine tracking down Mystique and Mystique constantly a step ahead; and the past, with Logan and Mystique working together before he became Wolverine.
The beauty of the story is the way that the two time lines play off each other. In the present you have Wolverine filled with utter rage at everything that Mystique has done. In the past, you have almost a kind of love story between Logan and Mystique.
There are some really good plots twist, and while I feel the overall story doesn't add much to Wolverine's character, it does make Mystique seem a lot deeper.
Aaron knows how to write Wolverine really well and Garney does an awesome job with the art!
5 Stars
Just kind of a average Wolverine story Wolverine goes after Mystique for betraying the X Men and thats it. I pretty much summed up the whole comic in one sentence. Don't get me wrong, its mildly entertaining but after 5 issues you just get annoyed of it. Its very similar to a lot of Wolverine stories. Nothing really new or interesting here
Excellent Wolverine solo action packed This book has the formula of a good comic book, it has a real good art(Ron Garney definitly rocks), and the story of Jason Aaron , is very basic but strong. This arc is about Wolverine's quest to kill Mystique once for all (it was a Cyclop's request after Messiah Complex crossover, that you should read because it is great), the story presents how Wolverine met Mystique for the first time, and why wolverine knows Mystique that much. The story is a little bit short, but has a lot of action, sex, alcohol and Wolverine's admamtium all over. This is a MUST HAVE.
Action and Sex from Marvel This is an awesome read. The story is well written and takes Wolverine from past to present dangers, somewhere in the Desert. Wolverine and Mystique face off....bare. You don't need a PHD on comic book history to get into this story. I've been passing this one at work, and people who don't normally like comic books have been engage in comic book conversations. Get this book.
Wolverine & Mystique, here we go again... What? Mystique betrayed someone? You're kidding?! With that out of the way, Get Mystique pretty much sums up the plot of this Wolverine storyarc from newcomer Jason Aaron (Scalped, Ghost Rider), which finds Logan chasing down Mystique to get a little revenge. In between that, we see flashes of the first meeting between the two in the 20's, and as a whole, Get Mystique doesn't really amount to a whole lot. Aaron's writing isn't bad one bit, there's just nothing here that's really all that intriguing or engrossing. Ron Garney provides some solid artwork though, which is a big plus considering just how short much of a breeze that Get Mystique ends up being to read. Still, it isn't bad, and is certainly worth checking out if you're a Wolverine and/or fan of the villainous Mystique, and are interested on learning a bit more of the sordid history between two of the most iconic X-Men characters.
