Collaboration in another comic genre For fans of the collaboration of artist Jack Kirby and writer Stan Lee, this is an opportunity to see their work outside of the superhero genre. These issues reprint western tales published at the same time as the early issues of the Fantastic Four and other early Marvel silver age superhero titles. The price at Amazon is a significant discount from what is normally charged at comic shops and comic book web sites, and the delivery very fast.
Saddle up, buckaroos! I loved this collection. It's nice to get a break from the heaviness of Marvels' Civil War and DC's Infinite Crisis and just ride back to the days of yesteryear with Stan & Jack and the wonderful, simple and entertaining adventures of the Rawhide Kid. No heavy messages. No galactic cataclysms. Just good ol' shoot-em' ups and wild western adventure. I started my love affair with comics with old battered issues of the Rawhide Kid and the Two Gun Kid in my hometown barbershop when I was just knee -high to a jackrabbit, and now it's great fun to take a ride down memory lane. If for no other reasons, this is a great collection of classic Kirby artwork and now Amazon's got it on a great sale price. I paid full price for it when it first came out, with no regrets! Thank you Marvel, for giving these old gems the deluxe treatment!!!!
