Because... it makes a child feel good This book is about a grandmother who does what feels good, not what people expect her to do. It encourages children to be their own person and can increase their self-confidence. It also helps teach days of the week and other sequence words. And it makes you feel like dancing!
Because I really enjoyed this book and the meaning the authors were trying to convey. I am a school teacher always looking for books with meaning to use in the classroom. This story is about being yourself and not letting other people interfere with your happiness. People of all ages will be inspired by the words and illustrations to not be afraid to express yourself, and that it could become contagious.
Beautiful Illustrations I was excited to receive this book for my 2-year old daughter. I'm a huge fan of Baryshnikov and was excited to see what his idea of a children's book was. Of course, it's about dance, which my daughter is very into right now. The story itself is a little "clunky." It just doesn't really flow but it is sweet. But the illustrations are wonderful. And my daughter likes to look at the pictures - she's been "reading" it a lot since we received it.
