windows vista for dummies I'm not thrilled with the book version. I still have the DVD version to test which came bundled with my order.
Sortibng out Vista I was dead set against Vista due to users comments and my new computer came with Vista instead of XP which I have learned to use! I thought that the only way to sort it out was to get one of the "For dummies" books, which I hve been buying since "DOS for Dummies" ( I have Windows XP for Dummies" too - at the time I thought XP was unwieldy). I have already solved various (apparent)problems thanks to "Vista for Dummies", which are due to lack of knowledge and being rather hide-bound. I still haven't cracked it all but am well on my way, and very happy with the book, as it has had answers to all of my doubts up to now.
Just Buy The Book !!!! I just finished watching the dvd--Windows Vista for Dummies, and I have to admit that I was disappointed. The dvd doesn't give any examples of what you can do with vista. After watching the dvd I didn't know any more than when I started.(even the host recommeds buy the book to use as a reference--He knows hes' not saying much.
I would advise you buy just the book and if you want to learn about vista get video professor or professor teaches vista--you'll learn more.
Dummies is the perfect reference. I always have the dummies book handy for reference. It is almost always clear and informative.
Time Wise a Great Investment.
Not best source Purchased this item and disappointed because does not provide a reference for trouble shooting, for example, it does not include a section on compatiblity. That section allows games to work from XP to Vista. Had to go to Yarnold's "Windows Vista Tip and Tricks", which I recommend. Dummies is a good source for beginners but not for problem solutions.
