Six thousand years ago. Evil stalks the land. According to legend, only twelve-year-old Torak and his wolf-cub companion can defeat it. Their journey together takes them through deep forests, across giant glaciers, and into dangers they never imagined. Torak and Wolf are terrified of their mission. But if they do not battle to save their world, who will?
Really great book, slightly unusual setting I read this book not too long ago, and I thought it was really great. If I've ever read a book set in this time, I think the Stone Age, then I've forgotten it. Wolf Brother is well written and believable. The story pulls you in, and keeps you reading until the end. It's a hard book to pick up, but once you pick it up it's even harder to put it down. If you start reading it will pull you in, making it nearly impossible to stop until you've finished. The characters are well developed; I especially liked the parts from Wolf's point of view. All in all, Michelle Paver has written a marvelous book that will leave readers frantically searching for the next book in the series.
Breath-taking I sort of wish this book had been written back in the day when I was a kid. But as I cannot depend on wishes, I will be content that this book was written and I was around to be amazed by it. This is exactly the kind of book I enjoy. When I was young, I was the kid that wanted to be running through the woods surrounded only by nature (probably not by the evil the main character encounters, but hey) and I am sure there are plenty of people out there to agree with me.So clearly Ms. Paver has picked an excellent topic. She takes us back eons into the prehistoric world where Man is still at the mercy of Nature. Humans live in clans, hunting and studying the magic of the world around them. The characters are wonderful, real people who just happen to live in a very distant time. I felt so much for Torak and Renn, and Wolf grew on me like a pet puppy. The descriptions are vivid and rich, but not at the expense of the adventurous pace. This is the next great series.
Great Book!
Michelle Pavers has written a lot of good books and one of them is called Wolf Brother. It all started out in the forest when Torak saw his father and his father's friend get attacked by a bear. Torak asked his father if he was alright. He told him to leave him because the bear could be anywhere. His father was hopeless because he got him and he said leave at once because he said the bear might come back and kill him as well. When Torak left he was crying and didn't know what to do. He was alone and helpless and he didn't know anything about hunting to keep him alive. At least he had Wolf with him. Torak was from a wolf pack. On that same day Torak was terrified about what happened that day on his father's death but he has to be brave to himself and stay strong wherever he goes. In the story the author has great word structure and makes the story interesting. When you start reading it the introduction makes you want to go in the book more and wants to make you read it more. My opinion is that this author is a very interesting author that thinks outside of her mind bringing all these ideas together and making them into a great, interesting story. The way the author describes wolf and all the other main characters in the book makes the story more interesting.
WOLF BROTHER IS COOL I am 9. Wolf brother is REALY REALY REALY Good. It is one of the best books in the world. Maybe even in the GALAXY. Or the UNIVERSE. It is one of the best books I have ever read. I like the ending. It is exciting. WARNING: this book is not for the faint hearted. If you faint if you hear the word blood this book is not for you. But do not get the wrong impression. This book is not violent. If you like this book YOU ROCK. If you don't what's wrong with you?
wolf brother's review The genre of Wolf brother is fantasy adventure. The theme of it is serious. Wolf Brother takes place in a forest. The conflict of this book is that Torak (the main chareater), has a mission. The mission is to go to a mountain. To go to that mountain, its not easy. Torak needs to defeat some dangerous animals. I really didn't like this, because the book is pretty boring.
