Amazon.com:
This feature-length tape began as a three-episode story line on the animated TV series, a superhero crossover where Bruce Wayne visits Metropolis and the Dark Knight meets the Man of Steel for the first time. The two heroes mix like oil and water, the law-and-order Superman suspicious of Batman's rather ruthless methods; but they form an uneasy partnership when Lex Luthor and the Joker team up to take on the duo. To add a personal dimension to the already edgy rivalry, Wayne romances Lois Lane under Clark Kent's very nose. The stylized animation and sharp design of the TV series give the limited animation a sleek, smooth quality and an energetic sense of movement. Timothy Daly supplies the voices for Clark Kent and (in a deeper register) Superman, with Kevin Conroy performing the same vocal trick for Bruce Wayne/Batman; but Dana Delany only has to worry about one persona as Lois Lane. The once-and-future Luke Skywalker, cult film star turned voice actor Mark Hamill, provides the Joker's cackling banter. --Sean Axmaker.

4 out of 5 starsThe Batman Superman Movie..........
I'm a big fan of Batman and Superman. Have been since my youth. Seeing as to how they'd be starring in a movie together, you'd think I'd be giving this movie a five-star rating. While I desperately wanted to give it such a rating, this animated film just didn't excite me as much as any of the others I've seen of the DC Universe. In this tale, Joker and Harley steal the Laughing Dragon(which turns out to be made of Krpytonite). Finding this out, Joker plots Superman's death with Lex Luthor for a sum of money. Lex agrees but doesn't want to be found out as a partner to the crime. It's up to Batman and Superman working together to stop it from happening. Meantime, Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane start to become romantically involved much to the chagrin of Clark Kent & that causes many a problem for our duo.

Don't get me wrong. This animated feature isn't entirely awful. Actually, it is a fun film. I did give it four stars. It's just that I was expecting alot more out of it considering it's our 'World's Finest' team. To me, it seemed uninspired. Whereas the show, the new Batman/Superman Adventures, was alot more inspired than this.

At any rate, if you're a big Batman/Superman fan--check this one out. You might like it more than I did. Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy head up the cast as vocal talent for the movie.

4 out of 5 starsBest of both worlds
The Superman/Batman matchup has been a classic for years in the comics medium, so the pairing of these two iconic characters from their respective animated series was both inevitable and welcomed. To add to the mix, let's throw in their equally legendary arch nemeses Lex Luthor and the Joker, along with their galpals Mercy and Harley Quinn, plus an unexpected but delightful romantic angle involving Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane. The premise is solid, although there may not have been enough story to be stretched out over one hour. The first third of the movie is the best, with the stage being set for all of its' many entertaining plot scenarios. The last third is a bit too focused on action, which admittedly many people want and prefer, but did appear to be extended in order to fill up the allotted time. Since the three episodes that comprise this movie originally aired on the Superman series, both the animation style and the overall tone and atmosphere are from it also, which does partly explain the emphasis on action. Regarding the animation, it was a bit jarring at first to see the different appearances of Batman, and especially the Joker, but otherwise was stellar; Lois especially looks as gorgeous as ever. Unfortunately her closing goodbye scene with Bruce was all too brief, and an opportunity to please the romantics among us with a touching and bittersweet parting between these two star crossed lovers was missed. As this movie illustrated, there will always be something special whenever these two giants of the DCU share an adventure. The foundation of their appeal goes to the heart of what many people love about superheroes and cartoons in general. World's Finest indeed.

5 out of 5 starsOne of the best cartoon movies I've ever watched
Just thought you'd like to know, this movie was actually shown in 2 episodes of the Superman, the animated series. So if you're looking to buy the entire Superman,TAS, which I HIGHLY recommend, then DON'T BUY this movie as you'll be buying it twice! Getting back to this review. What else can be said but that it was a great great movie! Pairing superman & batman and both finding out each other secret identity. Plus the battle both Superman & Batman had with Luthor & the Joker was classic! I won't tell you what Batmen went up against in this movie, but it was verry similar to a battle that another well known superhero, Spiderman, had. Either way, it was a great battle and one of the best parts of this movie. The Lois Lane storyline was good also. It wasn't too violent so I watched this with my then 5 year old son and he LOVED IT! After it was done, he wanted to see it again. All I can say is that this cartoon brought back alot of memories of long ago when superhero cartoons were fun to watch. It wasn't watered down or politically corrected like the SuperFriends were, because you were able to see the heros using ALL of their powers. If you're a fan of good superhero cartoons, then this cartoon, (which again, you can see in it's entirety in the Superman, TAS)is well worth buying!

4 out of 5 starsVery interesting
Bought this for my son who is 4 and he loved the interaction between Batman and Superman. As a mom, i found it interesting and not boring at all. Joker is really funny. I recommend it.

5 out of 5 starsWhen two heroes meet at last!
The Joker (voiced by Mark Hamil) has hatched an evil scheme as he finds a special object that contains kryptonite as he heads to Metropolis to make a deal with Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown) to help take down Superman (voiced by Tim Daley). Bruce Wayne (voiced by Kevin Conroy) heads down to Metropolis to track him down as he meets Clark Kent and falls for the lovely Lois Lane as only he as Batman along with Superman can foil Luthor's and Joker's diabolical plan.

Wonderfully animated and fantastic full length feature animated movie that finally has the two greatest superheroes from DC meeting each other for the first time in animation. Bruce Timm (producer and co-director of the Batman and Superman 90's cartoons) has done it again with another winner in the Batman animated movie chronicles combining it with his "Superman The Animated Series", fans of both heroes shouldn't miss this movie.

The DVD doesn't offer much extras except for a game, interview, music montage, trailers and cast and crew info but if your into Batman and Superman get this movie.
