By: Craig Thompson By: Craig Thompson Publisher: Top Shelf Productions August 06, 2003
This is my second graphic novel--and it was just as excellent as my first. Don't let the thick book scare you..it is truly awesome. I bet I read the last half of the book in 4 hours. I have found all the other books that Craig has written and they are awesome. I had thought he was going to be writing a follow up to this one but so far he hasn't. The book is under the classification of graphic novel..and... more

| 3. Lost Girls Hardcover Edition |
|
By: Alan Moore, Melinda Gebbie Publisher: Top Shelf Productions June 30, 2009
A different take on the traditional stories of Alice, Dorothy and Wendy, although the sexual nature of the book is not for the under-aged or those of prudish minds. I really liked some of the major illustrations throughout the story that showed the parallel of the original story and Moore's version. An interesting (and titillating!) read... more

By: Craig Thompson By: Craig Thompson Publisher: Top Shelf Productions January 25, 2005
I loved this book. I ,like many others, read Blankets first and fell in love with it. So I was very excited to read this. I was captivated the whole time. Its a great story. I was really looking forward to where it was going. But as I started nearing the last 2 or 3 pages I started to realize that there are not enough pages to wrap things up. And before I knew it It ended. It really does feel like... more

Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele, The Surrogates (Top Shelf, 2006)
It is by now a Hollywood cliché, not to mention a Hollywood truism, that the book is better than the movie. And that is certainly the case where The Surrogates is concerned. That said, in some ironic way, reading Robert Venditti's original source material gave me a slightly greater respect for Jonathan Mostow's bloated... more

|
By: Andy Runton Publisher: Top Shelf Productions September 29, 2004
The Owly comics are deceptively simple tales of a sweet little owl and his forest friends, told without words but with plenty of emotion and gesture. This volume, which comprises two fairly long stories, is the first book in the series.
In the first story, Owly rescues a worm who nearly drowns in a sudden rainstorm. He picks up the unconscious worm with a leaf, brings him home, and sits... more

|
By: Alan Moore Publisher: Top Shelf Productions January 07, 2004
I just finished this last night - what an intellectual workout. I don't recall feeling this spent upon completing a novel since I read Moby-Dick (Dover Giant Thrift Editions), and that was almost twenty years ago. If you're coming to this thinking, "I'm in the mood for a little light reading - I think I'll try the novel by that comic book guy," you've come to the wrong place.
