Jim Butcher has done it again. The Dresden Files just keep on ticking--each book has been great and Turn Coat: A Novel of the Dresden Files is no exception. Faced with a traitor within the ranks of his own kind, Harry Dresden stands up for the Warden who has made most of his life a living hell. The book starts fast and rushes forward at an exhilirating pace. Well written, and most of all, it has... more

Oh, I loved this book! I can't believe I am going to have to wait an entire year for the nexr installment in this fantastic series! Anne Bishop is such a talented writer! She has a real knack for characters, and plots, too. In this adventure, I especially loved all the Scelties - so much fun! And I liked how all the major characters made at least brief appearances... It is just a really... more

I dont want to over-praise the novel but it is a fun fast read. The "twist" is that the author takes the detective mystery genre but this time the detective is a "down on his luck wizard." It sounds cheesy but the author makes it work.
The writing is fairly sharp and the pacing works nicely toward an action-filled ending. To my relief, the writing is skewed to adult readers and our... more

"In the 10th edition of this hugely popular series, our resident wizard and his odd group of allies once again pit themselves against ancient enemies in the frozen streets of mid-winter Chicago. Regarding the use of this book on Kindle - it USED to be speech enabled, allowing a Kindle user to play the book in your car so you could hear it while you drove (or any other place, if you wanted to give your eyes a rest). Now, all of a sudden, it's no longer speech enabled (text-to-speech). What gives? Did the publishers suddenly change their minds? Is the support for text-to-speech disappearing... more

This is the third book in the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher.
I really liked the short lived Dresden Files TV series - they should bring it back - and the first two books were very good. This third book was good, but it could have been better.
In this installment, Harry Dresden, Chicago's only resident wizard detective, fights an evil thing called the Nightmare. It takes... more
