| 1. Gravel: Never A Dull Day (Signed Limited Edition) |
|
By: Warren Ellis, Mike Wolfer Publisher: Avatar Press September 10, 2008
This is a well made hard back, sweetly signed by the author and artist. Readers should understand this work is in grey tones - but it's still an engaging read. Ellis' Gravel gets better as the story continues. Part of the series' originality involves the boundary pushing violence and sexual content, and some readers will no doubt be turned off by this. Others will appreciate an interesting character... more

| 2. Ignition City Volume 1 |
|
By: Warren Ellis, Gianluca Pagliarani Publisher: Avatar Press March 03, 2010
Its really 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up 'cause I'm sick of being so negative.
You'll have to excuse me, but I have a hard time reviewing this work without reviewing it in context of Ellis as a writer. Warren Ellis writes Warren Ellis stories. You're either a fan or you're not. All Ellis stories have X amount of things that are in every one of them and these all fall into three... more

| 3. Alan Moore's Writing For Comics Volume 1 |
|
By: Alan Moore, Jacen Burrows Publisher: Avatar Press June 24, 2003
This is probably the most honest piece of writing I've ever read. in this thin but precious book Alan Moore writes about almost everything in order to wake up your mind, tips, anecdotes, his procedures, not so extensive but so damn clear, that's the first part (written many years ago, when Mr. Moore was in his starting years, but already an outstanding writer)
the second part was written... more

| 6. Black Summer |
|
By: Warren Ellis, Juan Jose Ryp Publisher: Avatar Press October 08, 2008
This story opens with a doozy of a opening: The preemeniant superhero of the United States, essentially the Superman of the story, murders the President & all his top advisors. He then calmly holds a press conference to say that he judged them guilty for their crimes, and that he expects new elections to be held in short order.
Chaos, of course, ensues.

By: Warren Ellis, Gianluca Pagliarani Publisher: Avatar Press November 05, 2008
It's not very often that I get to review a graphic novel, so when a friend let me borrow this, I was really excited to tell you all about it.
Aetheric Mechanics takes place in an alternate Earth in which Britain is at war with a place called Ruritania, whose powerful technology is quickly turning the tide of the war in their favor. Doctor Richard Watcham returns from the war front and... more

Anyone familliar with Freakangels knows that you can read this free every week, but this thing is so great that it is worth purchasing even if you have read the entire story to its current episode.
