| 1. How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way |
| By: Stan Lee, John Buscema Publisher: Fireside September 14, 1984
Not gonna lie--the book is rather dated in terms of its stylistic leanings, but it's still full of practical advice and techniques which any modern artist will find useful. Plus, it's always a hoot to read anything Stan Lee writes!... more

| | 2. The X-Men Omnibus, Vol. 1 |
| By: Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Jack Kirby, Jay Gavin, Werner Roth, Jack Sparkling Publisher: Marvel Comics April 22, 2009
The Omnibus series is great, reprinting the full comics. I read the whole series as a kid as we had all the comics (I have X-Men #1 framed on the wall, still a really cool cover), and was a big fan of the original X-Men, (liked them much better then the new X-Men). BUT, when reading them now, they just do not hold up as well as FF, Spidey, Daredevil, Iron Man, Hulk etc... Kind of like how some cartoons... more

| | 4. Fantastic Four Omnibus, Vol. 1 (v. 1) |
| By: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby Publisher: Marvel Comics July 20, 2005
This was so much fun! I just got it in the mail today and have enjoyed everything about it. Not only are the comics here but short essays by Stan Lee about the FF and Jack Kirby. Add the original letters that fans wrote in and you have something that is truly special for any fan of the Fantastic Four or Marvel comics in general. Do yourself a favor and pick this up to share with freinds or... more

| By: Stan Lee, Gary Friedrich, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Marie Severin, Gil Kane, Bill Everett, John Buscema, John Romita, Dick Ayers, Mike Esposito, Bob Powell Publisher: Marvel Comics June 25, 2008
I really enjoy the old archive comics, the dc comics archives, the new Jack Kirby collections, etc. I have dozens of them, so I thought that this book would be a no brainer; unfortunately it's only ok. The first 100 pages are great, (Kirby, Ditko) but I kind of wish I could have just purchased that section alone. There is some pretty bad art in here. I bought the book at close to 40% off and I'd... more

This is a great book! I am a big comic book fan. I love how big it is. The artwork is GREAT the story is awesome.
Yes it is full color. It's in a very handsome hard-cover. I lost the dustcover for mine :(. Actually never got to see it(though this was not Amazon's fault at all).
A bit pricy but I don't care abiout that. This book is going in my collection... more

| | 8. Amazing Fantasy Omnibus HC Brereton Variant |
| By: Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, Don Heck, Paul Reinman Publisher: Marvel Comics September 19, 2007
Stan Lee the man of thousand ideas. Before Stan Lee committed himself to super heroes the variety of his ideas spread from horizon to horizon. This book is evidence for that. Everything was possible. You get crime, monsters, SF, horror, history, mystery, and ... more than you can imagine. Each of these 68 short stories are well worth reading and some of them are classics. For example a story which... more

| | 10. Essential Avengers Volume 7 TPB |
| By: Steve Englehart, Tony Isabella, Scott Edelman, Gerry Conway, Jim Shooter, Bill Mantlo, Stan Lee, George Perez, Don Heck, Keith Pollard, Joe Sinnott, John Buscema, Sal Buscema, Pablo Marcos, George Tuska, Sal Trapani, Jack Kirby Publisher: Marvel Comics February 03, 2010
The stories in this volume are really strong, and the art is fresh and clear. (The art found in this book is also similar to the art in Essential X Men vol 3) After dealing with boring and lackluster eras like the when Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Hawkeye were the only members and the very early years of the team we finally get to my favorite age of The Avengers.
However... more
