| 1. Powers: The Definitive Collection, Vol. 3 |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis Publisher: Marvel Comics December 23, 2009
Man.. i read this every night after work. Anytime i had to sit to use the bathroom. and any time i had it with me and had a spare moment. This SERIES is a must read. I thought that this omnibus was excellent. Only gripe i have is that some texts get caught in the middle edge and your stretching the page to read it. no biggie though.
I love it. if you buy it, you will love it. ... more

| | 2. Powers: The Definitive Collection, Vol. 2 |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis Publisher: Marvel Comics February 18, 2009
The stories in this issue are stronger than the previous volume, which means that they are better then almost all of what is currently on the shelves. Problems with production values though are still present. They come in the form of art that at many spots looks scanned from inferior copies and also binding of pages that leaves some art/dialogue difficult to read. These problems are much less noticeable... more

| | 3. Avengers Disassembled: Iron Man, Thor & Captain America |
| By: Michael Avon Oeming, Mark Ricketts, John Jackson Miller, Robert Kirkman, Christopher Priest, Andrea Divito, Tony Harris, Scott Kolins, Jorge Lucas, Scot Eaton, Joe Bennett Publisher: Marvel Comics April 15, 2009
This is great! I won't bother detailing the individual stories, see the reviews of the trades that were compiled into this book for that. I'll simply say that this jubo-sized book is wonderful. The Thor story alone justifies the large size. The final fall of Asgard gave me chills.
The artwork on Iron Man, and Cap is also top-of-the-genre, and benefit from the oversize treatment... more

| By: Mike Mignola, Michael Avon Oeming, Guy Davis By: Mike Mignola, Michael Avon Oeming, Guy Davis Publisher: Dark Horse November 04, 2009
When I got the BPRD series, I took them to work and shared them with those of my co-workers who read Hellboy and BPRD. Everyone liked them. Of course, I like them, too... more

| | 5. Powers: Who Killed Retro Girl? |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming, Pat Garrahy Publisher: Image Comics June 21, 2001
I guess Bendis is under the impressing that crime drama should have dull and redundant dialogue. Not only is the dialogue boring but the artwork is so simplistic that you are left with nothing else to look at as each character repeats themself over and over and over. It is like watching one of those police chases on T.V. where the reporter need to keep talking but don't have anything new to say so... more

| | 7. Powers Vol. 12: The 25 Coolest Dead Superheroes of All Time |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis Publisher: Marvel Books April 15, 2009
wow, I have been continuously amazed by this series, and while I was initially critical of the art, it's Toth influenced design and ability to convey human emotion even in the environment won me over completely. This trade paperback draws together the many threads from which this story has been woven into a satisfying conclusion. I can only hope for more. ... more

| | 8. Powers Vol. 2: Roleplay (v. 2) |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis Publisher: Image Comics January 04, 2002
A group of youths indulge in a role playing game that involves running around in costumes, which is illegal under the law. This adds to the spice in this costumed version of 'Killer'. When they unfortunately run into a real power on their escapades things go terribly, terribly wrong. A much more low level case for the detectives.

| | 9. Powers Vol. 5: Anarchy |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming Publisher: Image Comics January 06, 2004
This is a really short Powers volume, as the words 'Kaotic Chic' appear again, seen near a corpse. There is one woman that is really, really, really unhappy about The Powers and what they are allowed to do.
Basically, what you have here is a commentary on the ethics and legality of those individuals operating, and the devastating effects their conflicts can have on those around them... more
