| | 4. Star Wars: Union |
| By: Michael A. Stackpole, Robert Teranishi, Christopher Chuckry Publisher: Dark Horse October 10, 2000
Ever since I found myself getting involved in the "Star Wars" Expanded Universe, I've come to appreciate just how much the tie-in books have added depth and richness to George Lucas's six-film creation. "Union" contributes to that with its tale of the events leading up to the televised wedding of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and former Emperor's Hand Mara Jade. Michael A. Stackpole's nicely written... more

| | 5. Star Wars Omnibus: X-Wing Rogue Squadron, Vol. 1 (v. 1) |
| By: Haden Blackman, Michael A. Stackpole, Mike Baron, Various, Tomas Giorello, Allen Nunis By: Haden Blackman, Various Publisher: Dark Horse June 28, 2006
I found the book to be enjoyable. I have enjoyed the X-wing novels and found these plots to be similar. I am more of text reader than graphic reader. Overall, it was an enjoyable book. The "comic book" aspect is distracting for me; I prefer words. If you enjoyed the other novels, I recommend this book, but remember that is a graphic rather than text novel... more

| By: Timothy Zahn, Michael A. Stackpole, Carlos Ezquerr Publisher: Dark Horse September 01, 1999
Reading "Star Wars: Mara Jade by the Emperor's Hand" along with Timothy Zahn's "Allegience" tie-in novel gives you a great way to know Mara Jade in her pre-Luke Skywalker days.
As the Emperor's Hand, Mara Jade has it all - looks, brains, a personal spacecraft and droid, a power-boost in the Force courtesy of Emperor Palpatine, and every means available to carry out her assignments. ... more

| | 7. Star Wars: Dark Force Rising TPB |
| By: Timothy Zahn Publisher: Dark Horse February 04, 1998
Dark Force Rising is the second book in the Thrawn Trilogy and is a great continuation of the struggle between the Republic and Grand Admiral Thrawn's forces. What we are most interested in this time is the legendary Katana fleet, a large fleet of dreadnoughts lost years ago in the depths of space. It is somewhat difficult to imagine that a fleet of this size has never been found, but space is a big... more

| | 8. The Warrior Princess (Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron, Volume 4) |
| By: Michael A. Stackpole Publisher: Dark Horse November 04, 1998
My first foray with the X-Wing Rogue Squadron wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped.
"The Warrior Princess" (Xena?) focuses on bald X-Wing pilot Plourr Ilo, who turns out to be the long-lost Princess Isplourrdacartha Estillo of Eiattu. With a backstory that conjures obvious comparisons to the the last tsar of Russia and the missing Princess Anastasia, this version follows through with a civil... more

| | 9. The Phantom Affair (Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron, Volume 2) |
| By: Michael A. Stackpole, Darko Macan, Edvin Biukovic Publisher: Dark Horse November 26, 1997
[...] I don't follow the ROGUE SQUADRON series, but I thought I'd pick this up to check out the art and story. I'm glad I did. There are some very clever bits, esp. campus security and the depiction of the right-wingers. However this fun action-adventure doesn't exactly fall in the great-graphic-novel category!
Wedge Antilles, a character briefly appearing in the original film... more

| | 10. Battleground: Tatooine (Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron, Volume 3) |
| By: Michael A. Stackpole, Jan Strnad, John Nadeau, Jordi Ensign Publisher: Dark Horse April 01, 1998
Thi sisn't even for die hard fans unless they have money to throw away. The art was passable but the story was weak, devoted mainly to action with little support. Even the characters who weren't created just for the comic (Wedge Antilles, Bib Fortuna, et al.) all acted about the same. I recommend picking up Dark Empire if you want a good Star Wars graphic novel instead of this... more
