| 1. You Can't Stop Me |
|
By: Max Allan Collins, Matthew Clemens Publisher: Pinnacle March 01, 2010
Read the reviews for this, and was heartened by the fact that they were all five or four star. I was actually really disappointed by it. The characters were poorly drawn and stereotypical, the plot devices implausible and the basic premise of the investigation being carried out through a reality t.v. programme quite silly. The "team" that was put together was so cardboard-cutout as to be ridiculous... more

| 2. Criminal Minds: Killer Profile |
|
By: Max Allan Collins Publisher: Signet May 06, 2008
I thought this was a good book, but at times it moved along slowly and I did not necessarily need to know what people were wearing in each and every scene. I'm still debating whether to try another one of these type of books or not... more

| 5. The Mike Hammer Collection Volume 1 |
|
By: Mickey Spillane Publisher: NAL Trade June 12, 2001
Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer collection is a must have for detective thrillers and nostalgia seekers alike. The lowest common denominator language unembellished with adjectives and adverbs is raw, urgent, harsh and cuts to the bone. Hammer is a hard drinking neanderthal with a nonstop libido. Maybe if people read more by writers like Spillane, they wouldn't believe the flowery garbage they see... more

| 7. Before the Dawn (Dark Angel) |
|
By: Max Allan Collins Publisher: Del Rey October 01, 2002
As a huge fan of the show I was excited to hear that I would finnally be able to get my Dark Angel fix after many years of withdrawl. Sadly, I was let down.
First, this is not a good book. Its badly written and the descriptions are very clinical and wooden, it lacks the passion that the show had.
Secondly, It doesn't match up with the TV Show. I'm really supposed to... more

|
By: Max Allan Collins Publisher: Del Rey February 04, 2003
Okay, nobody is going to confuse this with great literature, but for fans of the short-lived television series, this book should provide a satisfying trip back to the Dark Angel world. This story is essentially a sequel to the final episode of the series, and tells us the story of the showdown between Max (and the other transgenics) and Ames White, renegade NSA agent and member of a secret conclave... more

| 10. Grave Matters (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) |
|
By: Max Allan Collins Publisher: Pocket Star September 28, 2004
This is another interesting, two-fold storyline book in the CSI series.
While Brass, Grissom, Nick, and Sara deal with the body of a murdered woman found in a coffin (which wouldn't be so bad, except that it's not the body that was SUPPOSED to be in there!), Catherine and Warrick are working to uncover whether a death at a nursing home is natural, or had a little help.
