| 1. Irredeemable: Volume 1 |
| By: Mark Waid Publisher: BOOM! Studios October 06, 2009
What happens when your superheroes decide to go bad? Is it something in the water, something they ate, or something far deeper in their psyche than any of us can ever figure out? That's the premise behind this series - and what a series it is! When you look at the people that start and you being counting after a few episodes, you'll notice one thing. The number of people fighting on the side of... more

| | 2. Kingdom Come |
| By: Mark Waid Publisher: DC Comics September 30, 2008
Kingdom come is one of the best comic works of the recent past. Alex Ross' paintings are beautiful and detailed, and the story evokes powerful emotions. What would the word be like without a Superman? We get to see this first hand, and watch the triumphant return of a hero who has been absent for many years. We also get to explore what happens when even Superman is not enough. The review is intentionally... more

| | 4. Captain America: Road to Reborn |
| By: Ed Brubaker, Roger Stern, Mark Waid, Luke Ross, Gene Colan, Dale Eaglesham, Butch Guice Publisher: Marvel Comics February 17, 2010
There is little in the way of contribution here to the primary story line. While the extras interesting, I felt like I had paid too much for too little, at least compared to preceding publications. Hopefully, the next installment will have more solid content and less unrelated flash back stories. ... more

| | 5. Spider-Man: The Gauntlet, Book 1 - Electro & Sandman |
| By: Dan Slott, Fred Van Lente, Mark Waid Publisher: Marvel Comics March 17, 2010
Spidey enters the gauntlet in this first hardcover. The book starts off with the Dark Reign: the list one shot. Which I thought was the second best one behind only Daredevils's. It doesn't really add anything too the gauntlet storyline but it is a nice inclusion. Next is a short story adding too Electro's origin and after that 3 issues for the Electro storyline take place. I really like the story by... more

| | 6. Deadpool Classic, Vol. 1 |
| By: Fabian Nicieza, Rob Liefeld, Mark Waid, Joe Kelly, Joe Madureira, Ian Churchill, Lee Weeks, Ken Lashley, Ed McGuinness By: Rob Liefeld Publisher: Marvel Comics May 21, 2008
I must say that it's a bit unfair Marvel didn't continue publishing Deadpool by Joe Kelly after Mission Improbable TPB. Oh well.
This TPB collects some great stuff (Madureira mini series, Deadpool number one) with some that were not so great (Ian Churchill did great art but story was so so).
If you want to follow Deadpool in Deadpool Classics v2, you need this one OR Mission... more

| | 7. 52, Vol. 4 |
| By: Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid, Keith Giffen Publisher: DC Comics November 07, 2007
I'll admit I'm more of a marvel fan, dc always seemed to have gods you couldn't truly relate to. Where marvel had people with problems who also had powers. That being said DC's Kingdom Come was the best mainstream comic ever written. 52 follows in this path. 52 sings the praises of the unsong underdogs of the DC vers you didn't know you wanted to know about. By the end of number 4 you truly care about... more

| | 8. 52, Vol. 2 |
| By: Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid Publisher: DC Comics July 04, 2007
People complaint that there was not enough action on this one, but I respectfully disagree. Plot is being build and there are enough plot twists to leave you wanting for more.
Worth every penny again. ... more

| By: Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid, Keith Giffen Publisher: DC Comics September 19, 2007
I haven't even begin Volume 4, but I gotta tell you, this volume is quite amazing. So many great things happening... revelations, massive loss of lifes, the shape of a tragedy to come.
I feel chills just to think on what will happen next.
Can't wait, and you should either. Get this now and you'll have a better understanding on Final Crisis... more
