| 6. Weird Pennsylvania: Your Travel Guide to Pennsylvania's Local Legends and Best Kept Secrets |
|
By: Matt Lake Publisher: Sterling May 05, 2009
An interesting book for anyone who has ever lived in Pennsylvania for any length of time. One thing I did find disappointing, though, was the fact that most of the oddities, landmarks, and stories featured in this book were found in the Western half of the state, and I'm originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, so most of the stories were lost on me! I was nervous a little bit addressing the California Farm Owner's Association. I shouldn't have been. I was only pelted with 2 oranges and an artichoke. So that, in my book, is a huge success. I am now at a stop over at Philadelphia International Airport and plan... more

|
By: Mark Moran, Mark Sceurman, Matt Lake Publisher: Sterling November 04, 2008
Speaking as a huge fan of both the TV show and the books, (I own 3 of them myself) I found this latest addition to be weak and really below the level I have come to expect from the Weird U.S. series. The stories were tepid and not very interesting. I hope they work better and find some really interesting stuff for the next volume or, better yet, stick to writing about local oddities because that is... more
