| 1. Supernatural: Witch's Canyon |
| By: Jeff Mariotte Publisher: HarperEntertainment October 30, 2007
I really enjoyed this book. It is the 1st SN book I've read and I was very entertained. I love the series...and the book, for the most part, flowed very well. I picked it up Saturday morning and was done with it by Sunday afternoon...even while doing housekkeeping chores. I usually like to savor my books and make them last for a week or so, but I just didn't want to put it down. I skipped... more

| | 3. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Brass in Pocket |
| By: Jeff Mariotte Publisher: Pocket Star August 25, 2009
The book is in the timeline where Sarah has left, Brown is dead and Grissom is still in charge although he's away at a conference during the entire book. From the title and the synopsis, I was expecting Brass to have a big part in the book. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. While he's mentioned throughout, he doesn't really make an appearance until the very end.
Catherine has... more

| | 5. No Surrender (Star Trek: S.C.E., Book Four) |
| By: Mike Collins, Ian Edgington, Robert Greenberger, Glenn Hauman, Jeff Mariotte Publisher: Star Trek May 01, 2003
Well written, well-thought out, interesting characters. I have no clear reason why I have NOT rated this book five stars; it just doesn't seem to have the spark, the "I can't put it down" drive that a book needs to qualify for a five star rating. But it's a VERY good four-star book. Unlike some of the books in this series, it's even capable of being read as a stand-alone; it has both beginning and... more

| | 6. The Watcher's Guide, Volume 2 (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) (v. 2) |
| By: Nancy Holder, Jeff Mariotte, Maryelizabeth Hart Publisher: Simon Spotlight Entertainment October 31, 2000
If you are a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you will enjoy this book (and the other Watcher guides). But the first guide was not only a reference book, it had an irreverent wit that I found appealing.
This second book lacks that "attitude", so it was a little more dry... more

| | 7. 30 Days of Night: Return to Barrow |
| By: Steve Niles, Ben Templesmith April 11, 2008
This item is marketed as a "book" on this site, and although technically it is a "book", it's actually what is called an "illustrated book", or a "graphic novel" - or in other words, it's actually just a longer comic book that has been bound as a regular paperback book. It's a story that is told mainly with "illustrations", where the only reading is the balloons over the characters. I would call... more

| | 10. Immortal Remains: 30 Days of Night (v. 2) |
| By: Steve Niles, Jeff Mariotte Publisher: Pocket Star July 31, 2007
The best thing about the original '30 Days of Night' book (and to a lesser extent, film) was the vampires as insatiable, violent, force-of-nature---nearly a-human despite parts of their appearance. By the time we get to this book, we have much more human vampires, physically and mentally, with good ones, bad ones, funny ones, married ones, and one who sure seems to be bucking for 'vampire with a soul'... more
