| By: John Ostrander, Omar Francia, Jan Duursema, Dan Parsons Publisher: Dark Horse March 10, 2010
This is getting up there in the Trade Paperbacks from the Star Wars Legacy. As usual, the art is amazing and the writing is not bad, but its the story itself that I wasnt a fan of this time around. It was interesting and added another facet to the Legacy story line, but it just didnt hold me like the other TPB did. I can honestly say that for the price, you need to buy it but if your looking just for... more

Regarding the Vector cover, why is it that women in science fiction are expected to fly spaceships wearing a sexy bra and spandex pants?... more

| | 4. Shards (Star Wars: Legacy, Vol. 2) |
| By: John Ostrander Publisher: Dark Horse April 02, 2008
You know what. I enjoy star wars as much as the next average comic nerd but this and Vol. 1 of the Legacy series are amazingly cool. Just being able to jump 125 years to a future Skywalker was pretty cool and especially because it was written with quite a few twists and turns. Diggin it!... more

| By: John Ostrander Publisher: Dark Horse June 18, 2008
I'll admit it. I wasn't a huge fan of Legacy #1. Cade Skywalker was, well, underwhelming, but for whatever reason, I recently bought Legacy #2. After reading #2, I went out and snatched up #3 and #4. I found #3 was exciting and, truth be told, I fancy myself a guy who can sort of see a twist coming... but the first twist sent me reeling. (I won't ruin it for you.) The second twist, on the very last... more

| By: John Ostrander Publisher: Dark Horse May 16, 2007
I will admit it, when I first heard about this comic I was very skeptical. Then again I am skeptical of most expanded universe items. But I was on vacation recently and decided to give volume 1 a go. In general I was pleasantly surprised about what I read.
Yes the plot does seem at least partially recycled from the first three movies. Universe taken over by the Sith again, Jedi almost... more

| By: Haden Blackman, John Ostrander, Tomas Giorello, Brian Ching, Jan Duursema Publisher: Dark Horse December 09, 2003
This book tells three stories from the Clone Wars. The first is Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Asajj Ventress and Durge. The second is about Obi-Wan and a group of other Jedi facing off against the same evil duo, trying to find out how to stop a dangerous chemical weapon from being unleashed. The third sees Shaak Ti fighting alongside Quinlan Vos and a team of prisoners to stop a Seperatist... more

| By: John Ostrander, Haden Blackman, Jan Duursema, Tomas Giorello Publisher: Dark Horse July 02, 2003
Artwork is amazing. The stories are captivating. I found this series to be excellent as a buildup to ROTS. It does have some holes when you line it up to ROTS, seeing that it was created before the movie, but still an excellent read. ... more

| | 10. Last Stand on Jabiim (Star Wars: Clone Wars, Vol. 3) |
| By: Haden Blackman, Brian Ching, John Ostrander, Jan Duursema Publisher: Dark Horse March 17, 2004
Jedis are great and all, but I really enjoy the war aspect of this series. Vol 1 was good, Vol 2 started really picking up in the last section, and Vol 3 really gets to it--War! Its the volumes like this one that make me wish they had a series devoted to Clone Troopers, Republic Commandos, and ARCs (esp Alpha). Good inking and artwork. Straight-forward plot, almost near constant action, and... more
