Mark Twain is a great man. I liked his "Tom Sawyer" and "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." Also, I've a fine appreciation for the man's sheer wit, especially regarding politics, and I still think "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" is the best short story I had to read in High School. I remember these from when I was a kid in school. Although if you read the entire collection it can be confusing as the Unknown Soldier seems to have been in a couple different places at the same time (like around the Battle of the Bulge or Normandy) but the artwork is superb and many of the storylines are well-written. Not long after the comics reprinted in this volume, the original X-Men comics series was canceled. From reading this volume I think I can see at least part of what the problem was. There is almost no consistency to the creative team with artists and writers changing from issue to issue.
