| 1. Thor, Vol. 3 |
| By: J. Michael Straczynski Publisher: Marvel Comics February 17, 2010
"Thor, Volume 3" Written by J. Michael Straczynski (Marvel Comics, 2010) ------------------------------------------- J. Michael Straczynski, in revamping the literally moribund "Thor" franchise, did a good job revitalizing Marvel's Asgardian mythology... Over the years, Thor has been one of the most problematic Marvel titles, suffering mainly from a too-super protagonist and... more

| | 2. Rising Stars Compendium Hardcover |
| By: J. Michael Straczynski, Fiona Avery, Brent Anderson, Keu Cha, David Finch, Karl Moline Publisher: Image Comics April 29, 2009
Let's keep this brief. The concept, the characters, the art, and the hardcover presentation are all absolutely fantastic. The first third is an absolutely brilliant set-up to tell the latter two chapters of the story. Part 2 opens promisingly enough with some very fascinating story arcs. Unfortunately, this is where the wheels fall off.
Right towards the middle of the book when you... more

| By: J. Michael Straczynski Publisher: Marvel Comics September 09, 2009
This is a must have, this run of Thor is like Batman Begins. The art is awesome and JM Straczynski story telling is thrilling and keeps you interesting in what happens next. The way he deconstructed Loki and Asgard itself it's just great... more

| | 6. The Road to Civil War |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, J. Michael Straczynski Publisher: Marvel Comics March 07, 2007
I had been hearing about the Civil War Series of comics and wanted to check them out. First they were delivered in a rapid fashion and well packaged. The story was fascinating and the artwork superb. The major players (Iron Man, The Submariner) provided a good framework for the development of the cause of the War... more

| | 9. Civil War: Amazing Spider-Man |
| By: J. Michael Straczynski Publisher: Marvel Comics May 16, 2007
This is a very good feeder story for the overall Civil War event. Spider-Man has always been one of the most compelling characters in the Marvel universe and this book is no different. What I really enjoyed was the portrayal of Parker as a guy who has a good heart but is still looking for a father figure. Like the line in Platoon he is "a child born of those two fathers, fighting for possession... more
