| 1. Wolverine: Inside the World of the Living Weapon |
|
By: DK Publishing Publisher: DK Publishing March 30, 2009
DK's comic related books have definitely matured over the past couple of years. While a lot of their older books tended to be filled with a lot of fluff and not a lot of real content, their recent books have been quite good. Wolverine: Inside the World of the Living Weapon is one of the best, actually. It's 200 pages filled with information and insight on Marvel's most popular mutant. Sure it's... more

| 3. Wolverine |
|
By: Chris Claremont Publisher: Marvel Comics April 01, 2009
Wolverine is taken for granted today, but back when this comic mini-series came out he wasn't guest-starring in every book and little was known of the character's history. This storyline put in place many of the elements that still survive today. Not only that, it made the character interesting to those who had no interest in him before.
Claremont and Miller are at the top of their games... more

| 4. Wolverine: Weapon X |
|
By: Barry Windsor-Smith Publisher: Marvel Comics April 01, 2009
Weapon X is one of the coolest concepts in the Marvel Universe. Anyone who reads comics should find interest in Logan's dark past. While this comic may not be what I expected, I fell in love with it as the story slowly moved on. At one point I thought it was going to be an inaccessable Grant Morisson type comic, but thankfully the story becomes more and more clear as you move along. Weapon X is... more

| 5. The Wolverine Files |
|
By: Mike W. Barr Publisher: Pocket April 14, 2009
This book appears thanks to all the hype surrounding the 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' movie and for this reason, I must said I was a little skeptic about its content. However, I must said the book is really cool, showing images from Wolvie's most important comic appearences. It's writtten in keyfab as if it was a dossier developed by SHIELD where all that is known about Wolverine's career is chronicled... more

| 6. Wolverine: Get Mystique |
|
By: Jason Aaron Publisher: Marvel Comics August 27, 2008
What a great book! I am not usually an X-Men reader, although I like them, my reasons are economical rather than an issue of taste. This was a really good book though that made me reconsider. Wolverine is his usually gruff self but I enjoyed the fill in of the background between he and Mystique. I also like that she chose to hid in Afghanistan and Iraq but that Aaron didn't use the story as... more

| 7. Wolverine: Election Day |
|
By: Peter David Publisher: Pocket Star August 26, 2008
David does a workmanlike job in this novel about the famous scrapping X-Man, tied up in a conspiracy of kidnapping, politics, bounty hunters and mutants (stop me if you've heard this before). David writes well, and captures the character quite decently without breaking any new ground or offering any new insights into Wolvie. A good book to quickly plow through then give to someone else. Per se it's... more

| 8. Wolverine: Old Man Logan |
|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics August 26, 2008
I enjoyed this very much, but it's the little things that make instant fans. I am a huge fan of Dave Sim's Cerebus comics, and it's gratifying to see a Mark Millar tribute to the earthpig. Near the end of the book, Hulk's grandchildren are in a bar. One is called Elrod, and he has a doll just like Jaka's. ... more

| 9. Wolverine: Enemy of the State |
|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics July 09, 2008
What I mean by it being only okay, is it is nothing great. Before the story it has this preface where a guy talks about how he doesn't like comic books, with the exception of The Watchmen and similar deep original thought provoking ones- He then explains that he found this book to be one of them, surprisingly. Therefore when I started reading I was ready for, you know, a story! There was none... more

By: Chris Claremont, Barry Windsor-Smith, Len Wein, Peter David, Mary Jo Duffy, James C. Owlsley, Carl Potts Publisher: Marvel Comics April 01, 2009
I have to say this was one fun book to read, i always loved the character but never got a chance to read these stories, and see what made the so great. This is exactly the stories that show, wolverine is not just a berserker. I loved almost all the stories here, although i have to admit that the hulk stories were my least favorite, at least the first ones where wolverine made his first appearance... more
