I needed a recent comic pricing guide to evaluate a large collection. The previous source I had was a 2004 Comic Book Companion, which does not provide pricing for all value grades. The only bad thing was the 39th edition was announced the day after I ordered, but I needed one right away.

I buy the Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide every other year. This was the year I skipped buying it. I saw this companion and decided to purchase it, thinking that it had the current year's prices, and it was cheaper to boot. However, the prices are taken from the 37th Edition (2007), not the 38th. The book even states that the information is from the 38th Edition. But everything matches... more

By the time any price guide is printed it is already out of date. The prices for comics from the 1960's to older is fairly accurate. Older comic prices usually have very little change from year to year. The thing is anybody who has older comics probably doesn't need to purchase a new guide.
