| 1. Modern Masters Volume 15: Mark Schultz (Modern Masters (TwoMorrows Publishing)) |
|
By: Mark Schultz Publisher: TwoMorrows Publishing December 12, 2007
Having read most of Mark Scultz's work all the way back to Death Rattle, I was delighted to find that this book concentrates on little-seen works by the artist. It's filled to the brim with stunning work from sketchbooks to paintings. It's like flipping through his flat files or wandering his studio, I'd imagine. What wonderful wonderful work, handsomely reproduced and carefully researched... more

| 3. Classic Comics Illustrators: The Comics Journal Library (Burne Hogarth, Frank Frazetta, Mark Schultz, Russ Heath and Russ Manning) |
|
By: Frank Frazetta, Russ Heath, Burne Hogarth, Russ Manning, Mark Schultz Publisher: Fantagraphics Books July 25, 2005
I haven't finished reading all the text yet... actually I would have preferred somewhat less text (it could have been edited down considerably) and more space devoted to the artwork. Also I wouldn't have included Russ Heath, whose focus is more on war and westerns while the other artists seem to have more in common with each other... more sci-fi, fantasy, Burroughs based illustrations. Oddly the picture... more

| 4. Autobiography of an Artist: Selections from the Autobiography of Charles R. Knight |
|
By: Charles R. Knight, Mark Schultz (Illustrator) Publisher: G.T. Labs August 01, 2005
My fourth-grade son used this book for research for a report on Charles Knight. He enjoyed the book tremendously and found it very useful. He's a strong reader, so the prose might be a little advanced for young children. The story of Charles Knight, however, is inspirational and fascinating to anyone who loves dinosaurs and/or movie making... more

| 6. The Stuff of Life: A Graphic Guide to Genetics and DNA |
|
By: Mark Schultz Publisher: Hill and Wang January 23, 2009
I got this book because I am always looking for new ways to teach students. This may be useful for a kid who likes comic books, but I find that the storyline is not the least bit compelling. I think that was suppose to be the point of this book, to teach kids about DNA masked in a story, but they don't seem to pull off the story part very well. The information however is accurate... more

| 7. Tom Strong (Book 5) |
|
By: Ed Brubaker, Mark Schultz, Brian K. Vaughan, Steve Aylett Publisher: Wildstorm October 01, 2005
This latest collection of Millennium City's greatest hero may be fun but it is missing something that the previous collections had. Each of the five issues collected within contain only a single story each. While the stories do manage to be fine adventure comics on their own, they do not have the cleverness of the earlier stories. It may be because the name Alan Moore is missing from the cover... more

| 10. Superman: Ending Battle |
|
By: Geoff Johns, Joe Casey, Mark Schultz, Joe Kelly Publisher: DC Comics May 26, 2009
I picked this up from my weekly comic shop visit after reading Stephen O'Blenis' in-depth review and I must say, it was pretty darn awesome.
I don't want to go into a long and drawn-out review but there were so many excellent qualities to it that I could not see myself giving it less than five stars.
"Ending Battle" has all the elements of what makes Superman a cool character... more
