By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Books
This is no "Ultimates", it's no "Fantastic Four: World's Greatest", it's certainly not the average "Old Man Logan" and "Wolverine: Enemy of the State", either.
This is Millar doing "badass" Millar stuff, like having kids kill people, humans do heroics (like we've not seen Hawkeye do it before, mind you), exploding eyeballs, and other things.
If you like Millar, you'll like... more

Not as epic as some hype may have led me to believe, but I loved it anyway. Fun read with some classic throwback plot ideas and tons of classic Marvel characters!... more

By: Mark Millar, Peter Gross Publisher: Image Comics April 08, 2009
I first I thought this was interesting just from reading a small description on it at [...]. I decided to take a chance on it. It was only 10 bucks, why not? The story thus far has been excellent, but the story does not conclude in this book. I'm still waiting for the next part. The art on the other hand is nothing special. It gets the job done, but nothing that makes the comic really stand out... more

| 4. The Ultimates Omnibus |
|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics July 01, 2009
This omnibus has the first two arcs of the Ultimates Avengers, written by Mark Milla and the art od Bryan Hitch, the ultimates is the new version of the avengers,It is especially for the new readers, but the old readers will love it, Mark Millar brings the avenger to the 21st century. I think this book is PG-13 because has some necesary extreme violence. The art of Bryan Hitch is exellent, this book... more

| 5. Wolverine: Old Man Logan |
|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics January 01, 2009
Man, Wolverine as the Hooded Man over in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest? That was pretty sweet. He had Hulk as a son, and kicked all sortsa butt subtly, back before Marvel stuck him in your face, sorta like Claremont did years ago. Remember that?
Well, this is Wolverine IN YOUR FACE AND OLD AND STAY OFF HIS LAWN, oh yeah. He teams up with high-fan-following-but-not-mega-star Hawkeye... more

|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics July 09, 2008
What I mean by it being only okay, is it is nothing great. Before the story it has this preface where a guy talks about how he doesn't like comic books, with the exception of The Watchmen and similar deep original thought provoking ones- He then explains that he found this book to be one of them, surprisingly. Therefore when I started reading I was ready for, you know, a story! There was none... more

| 7. Wanted |

By: Mark Millar, J.G. Jones Publisher: Top Cow Productions/Image Comics November 28, 2007
A friend of mine who routinely passes very good comics my way recently had me read this. Apparently I had offended him in some way. After I finished it he apologized.
The story here plays out the fantasy of every teenage boy who wasn't popular in middle school. A loser suddenly gets all the power he can dream of and uses it to murder, rape, and say 4 letter words in front of his mother... more

| 8. Fantastic Four: World's Greatest, Vol. 1 |
|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics January 28, 2009
This is what a professional comic should look like. The trend in Marvel nowadays seems to be towards photo-realistic images with big storylines. I think that generally, this works for titles like the Fantastic Four.
However, the actual plot and dialogue is a bit of a snowjob. Earth is doomed -thus Reed Richard's ex-girlfriend calls on him to get involved in the Nu-World project. There... more

|
By: Mark Millar Publisher: Marvel Comics January 20, 2010
What the $@*% happened? Was it deadlines? A growing lack of interest? Millar painting himself into a corner? Was it Joe Quesada? It's Joe Quesada, isn't it? Whatever it is, what started as an awesome Fantastic Four run by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch ends up fizzling. FANTASTIC FOUR: THE MASTER OF DOOM collects issues #562-569, and the thing of it is that, even in this collection, there's a sense of... more
