| | 2. Kolchak: The Night Stalker - The Lovecraftian Horror (Kolchak the Nightstalker) |
| By: C. J. Henderson, Jaime Calderon Publisher: Moonstone June 06, 2007
Like a lot of the publisher's (Moonstone Books) efforts, this is above average work that suffers from poor proof reading. In addition to the duplicate prose section mentioned in the other reviews, there are several typographical errors but, also, there are a few critical pages where the art simply doesn't match the accompanying text. Specifically, when the creature that the story revolves around... more

| By: Christopher Golden, John Ostrander, Robert J. Randisi, Pierce Askegren, Mike Baron, Rachel Caine, Mark Dawidziak, Tom DeFalco, P.N. Elrod, John Everson, Joe Gentile, Elizabeth Massie, Gary Phillips, James Reasoner, Richard Dean Starr Publisher: Moonstone January 25, 2007
This collection did not measure up very well at all with the stories in the series. I was disappointed. Not to mention the fact that there were quite a few proofreading errors that should have been caught that detracted from the stories... more

| | 5. Kolchak: The Night Stalker Chronicles (Kolchak the Nightstalker) |
| From: Moonstone Publisher: Moonstone November 09, 2005
Some actors are so spot on on their portrayal of a character that their portrayal comes to define the character. To a generation Christopher Reeves IS Superman. To a previous generation it's George Reeve who occupies the slot of the Man of Steel. Bela Lugosi and Dracula are one and the same for many fans, as it is with Basil Rathbone and Sherlock Holmes. And so it is with Darren McGavin and Carl... more

| | 6. Kolchak The Night Stalker: Terror Within (Kolchak the Nightstalker) |
| By: Stefan Pertucha, C. J. Henderson, Trevor Von Eeden, Dennis Calero Publisher: Moonstone April 19, 2006
The Moonstone team and Kolchak are a match made in heaven. The "Terror Within" is an outstanding collection of stories by Stefan Petrucha and C J Henderson.
"The Devil in the Details" is a great Trevor Von Eeden art fest. Oh yeah, the Petrucha script is pretty good too! "Pain Most Human" and "Pain Without Tears" are C J Henderson mystery sagas that only Kolchak can wade... more

| | 7. Kolchak the Night Stalker: Bare Bones (Kolchak the Nightstalker) |
| By: Joe Gentile, Dave Ulanski, William R. Halliar, Ken Wolak Publisher: Moonstone October 11, 2006
I am a big Kolchak fan and I have to admit I just scanned the description of this before ordering. Big mistake. It's not a collection of Kolchak short stories (as I thought) but in fact a collection of graphic novel (i.e., comic book) scripts, complete with notes to artists and ample typos. The fact that these are in script form makes it especially hard to read smoothly.
It's good for... more

| | 8. Kolchak The Night Stalker: A Black & Evil Truth (Kolchak the Nightstalker) |
| By: C. J. Henderson Publisher: Moonstone August 15, 2007
Moonstone has done a great job with the last two Kolchak books: this and the lushly illustrated "Lovecraftian Horror" from earlier this year. "A Black and Evil Truth" is written with a clear view of who Carl Kolchak is and what made the original novels special. Carl's unique voiceovers are there, supplying details just as they were in the television series. Moonstone's editing has also improved (although... more

| | 9. Kolchak Night Stalker |
| By: Jeff Rice, Gordon Purcell, Terry Pallot, Ken Wolak, Ken Meyer Publisher: Moonstone April 30, 2002
Even thirty years later Jeff Rice's concept of a seasoned newspaper reporter facing down a real honest to goodness vampire has lost none of its freshness, and down on his luck reporter Carl Kolchak remains an inspired creation. This adaptation of the novel reads like a cliff notes version of the tv movie also based on the novel (albeit with some spicier subject matter) and I found myself wishing that... more

| By: Joe Gentile, Stuart M. Kaminsky, Stefan Petrucha, Jeff Rice, Christopher Jones, Doug Klauba, Gordon Purcell Publisher: Moonstone November 17, 2004
These Kolchak comics are good, if you are a fan of the television series. These are some of the stories of the TV series that never have been aired in this book... more
