| 1. Hulk Volume 4: Hulk Vs. X-Force Premiere HC (Incredible Hulk) |
|
By: Jeph Loeb, Ian Churchill Publisher: Marvel Comics March 17, 2010
This latest trade is the next installment of the decidedly decompressed but certainly intriguing "Who is the Red Hulk?" saga. As with the previous volumes that other people have justly commented on, many of Jeph Loeb's trademark writing shortcomings are regrettably still on display: excessive splash pages, numerous lengthy fight scenes, combined with a running internal monologue distinct from the ongoing... more

| 2. Hulk Volume 3: Hulk No More TPB (Incredible Hulk) |
|
By: Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness Publisher: Marvel Comics March 10, 2010
This is straight-ahead mindless cartoony Hulk action - what works about it is indeed the unabashed fighting (that's been going on since the series started 2 volumes ago) - and Vol. 3 serves up more of the same. The plot this time shows the "Defenders" being reformed from a different time stream to fight in a duel set up between the Grandmaster and the Collector.
As I've said before... more

| 3. Hulk, Vol. 2: Red & Green |
|
By: Jeph Loeb, Arthur Adams, Frank Cho Publisher: Marvel Comics May 13, 2009
Jeph Loeb has got to be one of the worst writers in the industry. Riding on his fame from one good book or two, he sours anything he puts his name to. It's a real shame with top notch talent like Art Adams and Frank Cho to be brought down to his level by their mere association... more

| 4. World War Hulk |
|
By: Greg Pak, Peter David Publisher: Marvel Comics 2009-05
Once I saw Hulk and the Warbound set up gladiator fighting in Madison Square Garden I really lost interest. I was hoping that Hulk was going to systematically hunt down the offending Illuminati in the same vein as great revenge movie. The Sentry's presence is built up throughout the story and finally shows up at the end only to become a bigger menace and threat to the Marvel Universe. The Hulk and... more

|
By: Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Arthur Adams, Frank Cho Publisher: Marvel Comics December 09, 2009
This is just fun comic bookness at its best. It has mystery and action and two Hulks. What more do you need? How about Rick Jones as his own new monster, or even a knock down drag out brawl between Rick (now called A-Bomb) and this mysterous Red Hulk. This is the type of story that you read as a youngster and had a good time with but long after the story is over you will be thinking about "who... more

| 6. Hulk: Skaar - Son Of Hulk HC |
|
By: Greg Pak, Ron Garney Publisher: Marvel Comics April 22, 2009
How can you go wrong with the sin of the Hulk? Well for starters don't piss him off, he has a temper just as foul as his fathers! Good follow up on the first one, highly recommended for fans of the series!... more

| 7. Incredible Hulk: Planet Hulk |
|
By: Greg Pak Publisher: Marvel Comics April 30, 2008
I'm not the biggest Hulk fan in the world, but this was an excellent story. Marvel's done the "send a strongman to another planet" thing before (with The Thing, in his own comic) but this is much better. The art is great, and the story, though derivative of many things (A Princess of Mars, Gladiator), has enough interesting twists to keep it interesting. Some of the pages seem choppy (was anything... more

This book is great if you read the first Pre-Lude: Planet Hulk, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk & Finally Hulk: Skaar Son Of Hulk. This story of The Hulk is awesomely written & it is an addition well kept between my other great novels that i have in my shelf. I have enjoyed reading the novel, i advise the reader to buy this great story line as well... more

| 9. Incredible Hulk: The End (Marvel Premiere Classic) |
|
By: Peter David Publisher: Marvel Comics February 13, 2008
This book of two stories, gripped me with excitement and left me pondering The Hulk 's life as a real experience if it happened to myself. The first story (Imperfect Hulk) had a lot of classic Hulk characterization to The Hulk and it 's enemy. But, the enemy (which I won 't spoil in revealing) was antagonistic and extremely precise in every move it made towards countering and creating elements of surprise!... more

|
By: Jeph Loeb Publisher: Marvel Comics March 11, 2009
I'm a little confused by all of these downer reviews. I actually really liked this. I don't read Hulk regularly or anything, but I love Jeph Loeb and this storyline intrigued me. I found it really interesting. I loved the art and really enjoyed the characters and dialogue. I think this is a very solid Hulk book. I'm now waiting, impatiently, for the next volume to arrive in the mail! I say... more
